Have not read all the other thread but what the hell is going on at FA HQ?

 

Has the draw been made or not? If its made why does it have to wait till 2nd July? What will happen if there are some changes to suit certain people?

 

Cant these people do anything right.

well...things don't add up :)we get emails saying that will be monday morning on the FA web-site and then on thursday a another fella put the extra preliminary round draw on his web-site!embarrassing to say the least...

Of course the draw is a fix,i can tell you also that Portsmouth beat Liverpool 1-0 in the final.

Well it was a semi-final in 1992, where one Darren Anderton's goal came within seconds of putting Pompey in the final. As per, the red-shirted scum got lucky and won on pens...

Yeah but we had such class players such as Dean Saunders, Michael Thomas, Don Hutchinson et all we were destined to win the FA Cup that year.

 

Besides if i remember rightly Anderton missed a decisive pen

The FA Competitions are usually drawn around the beginning of June but not released until the first week of July. This gives time for the draw handbooks to be printed up and sent out to the clubs. The clubs usually get the competition handbook and paperwork through the post either on the Monday the draw is released or the Saturday before.

 

I would guess someone at the FA said "there's a postal strike tomorrow, better get the competition draws out today" and some naieve work placement teenager probably thought that meant putting it on the website too. Then another picked up on it, then lots of us got to see it, then the FA realised they'd goofed, then it all disappeared again.

 

The draw that was released in error this morning will be the same one that comes out on Monday as they won't waste time and money redrawing it and reprinting the paperwork so I don't know why they just didn't hold their hands up and leave it in the public domain.
