Great performance from the boys.

Terrible start, gave away a goal very quickly but then settled down and played some good football. Sammy & Booty were excellent and Booty deserved that 3rd goal but it just wouldn't come.

I really do think Byron Bubb is a very good player - if only he would get on the ball more. Today whenever he got the ball he looked dangerous, but he drifted in and out of the game far too much.

Great atmosphere, great result.

Played quite well today after an awful start. Still think we can play better though. Booty took his goals really well and Sammy's dummy for the first was excellent. Ref was very poor again.

Thought Wilko was by far our best player and proably had his best game of the season. Rocastle also did well at left-back on his debut especially considering he is a central midfielder.

Keep on going Slough - good results for us today as well. Roll on the annual trip to the beach I see they won 4-1 away to Grays today - should be a good game.

Anyone know what Dean's goal celebration was about?

Good win..in the end ! I thought we were poor for the entire 1st half , but sticking at it meant we deserved to into the break 2-1 up as Barking were a poor side . Good controlled 2nd half , shame we couldn't build on the one extra goal .

One question though , I thought a manger's job at half time was to talk to his team ?

So why was Browne wandering back and fouth thru' the tunnel ? Quick team talk ?

Also a thanks to the Barking fans for informing us that we aren't a conference side anymore . I did forget .

Barking were MADE to look poor. Our whole team worked hard to deny them possesion and time on the ball, something we can't say has happened on other occasions this season.

Well done to Rocastle and Browne, the former playing out of position, the latter only recently returned from injury. MOM though was Spencer......class all through, set up Boot's second.

Wilko's lack of pace is a limiting factor, but his committment and workrate fully compensated for that today.

I was moaning about the lack of goals from defenders when up pops Dean Palmer for no.3! Gyoury's the only recent regular defensive scorer, but he's obviously upset someone lately.

Come on Rebels, promotion....you can do it.

p.s. to the Urchin interloper, please write something in English......I might read it then.

Congratulations on your victory today ,you were the better side so we've no problem with the result.

I read elsewhere that it was thought that we were poor today and whilst that's not inaccurate we were in fact missing our Captain and our leading scorer whilst fielding three of our reserve team ,the boy who scored our goal is only 17 years old and that was his first goal in senior football.

With our chance at promotion having gone our manager Richard Thomas has decided to go with more youth the product of which you saw today .

We felt our guys worked very hard today but Slough with a bit more experience and craft were always likely winners once you got in front no thanks to a pitifully weak referee who gave you a barely deserved free kick which led to the equalizer.

However it was generally agreed that you were the best side we've played this season and we wish you all the best for the rest of the season and we hope that you finish above Hornchurch come May 3rd (We hate Hornchurch too!)

Thank You for recognising our singing even if we were (painfully ) out of tune although we were surprised their was'nt a bit more noise from the Slough fans considering the healthy gate you get.

Hope this dosen't sound like sour grapes , Cheers.

Thanks Brad - was good to hear a visiting side make some noise even or especially when 3 -1 down.

Have to agree with Bernie. Barking had 27 point from 14 away games before today, on of the top three in the league. After a shakey start, and a diabolical decision by the ref we controled the game and as we became accustomed to the new back four looked exceptional at times. Personally I thought spencer and Metcalf were below their best today, bur Rocastle played well, was comfortable on the ball, and took time to look for a player. Has a good throw too. Bubb drifted. He seems reluctant to take a player on on the outside and get to the by line. Wilko had a great game, but many a ref would have taken exception to his high challenges, and "over enthusiasm " for the tackle. For me the best players were Tony and Sammy who worked tirelessly to close down the defenders, harry them, and disrupt supply.

The defence was good but not sorely pressed after the initial burst.

Worst on the pitch the ref, picky, inconsistant, doesn't know you have to stop the game for a head injury, let defenders swarm all over attackers, then gave the free kick the wrong way. Picky Picky Picky

Just a few points to go with the above.

1) Spencer, thought he was superb today, when he got on the ball he looked a different class to most of the other players on the pitch

2) Winston, brilliant performance from a man obviously not fully respected by the club management, his work rate is phenominal

3) Rocastle, very good debut, especially out of position, made good runs forward and solid in defence

4) Wilkinson, not a big Wilkinson fan and feel that his tackling can at times be a massive liability to the team as he always starts a game looking like he won't see the end due to being sent off, however after a poor first half he did play better in the second although would definately not class his overall performance as MOTM

5) Palmer, very poor first half and apart from the Arlesey game recently looks a shadow of his early season form, however, like Wilkinson a much improved second period with some of those quality forward runs and a goal followed by a superb, if not somewhat wierd, celebration.

6) Bring on Maidenhead, hopefully will be a good game although always difficult to play decent football on 'the beach'. A win would be fantastic for fans and players alike and will give everyone a great boost for the league run in. Lets hope we play for the whole 90 minutes and not just the last 20 like last year

UP THE REBELS

P.S. Where's Uncle Urchin this evening? Well done to Marlow, we beat them twice and then they go about beating the opposition, first Wealdstone then Hornchurch. Come on Unc, we won't take the piss, honest.
