Well....that was the worst performance since..since..well since..

last Tuesday !!

How can the defence go missing three games running in the first two minutes of a game.

Sure Kevin is sorely missed at the back but there are still

players at the back who until a couple of weeks ago looked almost impregnable.

And where is the creativity in midfield..answer,there isn't any.

I take it back that Jonah was looking jaded..its only when he is not playing that we can really see how much he is missed.

It wasnt easy for Nathan as the supply, such as it was,was awful.

Cripps was unlucky to be left out..I say it again, lets try him out wide,in place of wee Man,whose form of late, other than his dangerous free kicks, has been below par.

However it must be said that the effort was there,it always is..

but where was the spirit ??

Realistically the chances of promotion are about as likely as Ian Duncan Smith winning the next election...I suppose now is the time to voice the concerns of many fans...will Our Chairman who has done fantastic things for the club retain his enthusiasm and more importantly his willingness to invest in the club.

We certainly hope so because this has been a great season, even if we do miss out this year.We will all stay loyal to Urchins and hopefully the Chairman will continue to build on

what we have.

Where do I start?? Yesterday was appalling and was yet another in a long line of poor Urchin performances. I know results over the last 3 games are bad, but in all honesty this slip in form has been going on a lot longer than that. Facts tell you that we haven't scored nearly enough goals all season, however, with the defensive record we had, we managed to get points out of games by keeping clean sheets. However, if you start leaking goals like we have and not scoring then you are well and true buggered!

We can all accept losing matches, its part and parcel of football, but what I cannot accept is a lack of effort and passion. I have been saying for weeks now, there isn't any shouting from the players during the game and we have been lacking passion. Some how, more by the fact of how poor a good many of the teams in our league are, we have been getting results which have in quite a few cases have flattered us.

When we conceded goals yesterday did any of the players shout at each other?? Did they actually look like they were even bothered they had conceded?? No. The effort being made by a number of players out there yesterday was appalling. Someone made a good point on here recently, that if Mr. Bryco's window fitters performed as badly as some of his players did, they'd be out of the door before their feet had even touch the ground. The guy I feel sorry for is the poor sod that has ploughed a fortune into this club and is rewarded with a number of well paid, so-called professionals, turning out that sort of effort for the club, it is a disgrace. Jones is the model pro at the club, despite the fact the goals haven't been free flowing of late, you never see his head drop and he is constantly encouraging his team mates and winding the opposition up and bending the ref's ear for 90 mins. How many other players can you honestly say do that? And the fans to, we have seen the attendances increase more or less week in week out, yet supporters want to see entertainment, winning and passion, none those have been in evidence at recent games. I'm afraid to say, but fans are not going to keep coming to see rubbish like what we saw yesterday.

Having your squad contracted is OK if you want to keep your squad together and keep other clubs away from nicking our best players, but what it has also appeared to bring with it, is an attitude from a few players of we get paid regardless of the result, performance and effort we put in. You could count on one hand the players that really look up for it at the moment. Mick now really has a job on his hands, winning teams are a hell of a lot easier to manage than losing teams. Its time to see his worth and see if he can turn us into a winning side, not a drawing or losing side!

Perhaps you are suffering from the same lack of concerntration as the team sir when it comes to your spelling!!! (Heartford). Good to see Mr Marsden point out that the team lacked the Heart and Endeovur to succeed regarding this weekends game but i do question his management at times......seems to be going down the same old road i have seen so many times. Only this season we have seen Grays try to buy their way out of the league and look where it has got them?. I am fully aware of the need to strengthen squads but do it wisely.......those with the high profiles often are not the answer..............comments please?!!!!

I think in the most part Mick has signed the right players, with a few exceptions! I'd personally would assemble a team of tried and tested decent Ryman League players, rather than too many ex-league players, although that isn't a swipe at our ex-league players. Difficult one really, suppose you are after a mix of decent Ryman League standard players, a couple of ex-league players and a couple of our young home grown players. Whatever though, you can have the best players in the world, but if they have no heart and commitment there's no point in having them!

What I can't understand is that if we have the best players in the league why do we always revert to the long ball?

Is it because our players get lumps kicked out of them if they try to play football?

Did Marlow have their small band of nutters that look like a group of "child molesters" with them.

They spent the entire game at Sungate singing "super Marlow" over and over again!

To the anonymous post a little way up, Slough have the same problems of trying to play nice football between a rock and a hard place. 90% of teams in the division don't try to play football, resort to the long ball game and hurting players who are perceived as better than they are. Our problem then is the fact that we play on pitches not suited to the passing game and when we resort to the long ball we can't do it because our forwards are too small to compete and so end up off-side.

Thinking ahead to the weekend, I'm not sure what result I want from Northwood against your boys. Don't suppose you can do us a favour before that though by losing to Hertford but destroying their goalies..... would be good for us for the weekend!

Logic may suggest that Northwood winning is the better option, but given Slough have a game in hand on the Urchins I'm thinking of a bigger picture. Hornchurch beat Northwood would mean winning our games in hand on Northwood would leave us 3 points behind them, and though its a lot to expect us to catch them, it would certainly open up the promotion race, and possibly get Northwood jittery, which would be no bad thing
