I think that was according to the Blue Square Betting Website, I saw the odds for the opening fixtures, I'm unsure if they are correct, because Exeter City have an opening game at home to Torquay United! Would have thought that would have been more of a Boxing Day fixture myself.

Liam hopes to sign a new striker by the end of this week apparently, and is also hopeful of landing a winger-cum-frontman in due course.

They're not the opening day fixtures Kevin the page you saw was for which two teams paired together would finish higher then the other so our bet was for who would finish the season higher, us or Halifax.

 

Everyone knows we're away to Altrincham on the first day of the season.

The opening day fixtures were "released" on the Woking forum a couple of weeks back, and had us home to Altrincham

Talking of landing a winger-cum-frontman I believe Joel Ledgister has been released by Southend.

He is still very young but certainly has plenty of pace and talent, of course being so young means that his salary expectations are probably closer to what we can afford to pay than some players.
I thought he showed enough last season to indicate that he could become a very good player given the right coaching.

The suspicion is that Liam has decided he's not for us - I'd have thought he'd have signed him by now if he were going to do so.

 

Cant we persuade Anderson to come back from Scotland on the basis that he's likely to get a few games this season? (And before anyone says - I do know he didnt settle down here away from his family, but it is a bit of a shame as he'd be just the sort of player we could do with now)
