Yes, perhaps a touch early, but we will be running the prediction league through the website again this year.

 

£5 entry with the top entrants at the end of the season getting a share of the money (No. of entrants depends on prize pot and placings to receive money)

 

Predict where you think each of the following teams will finish at the end of the league season.

Bottom Placed Points:

Team Name:

 

Points are awarded for how close that team is to your predicted position. So, if Slough were 1st at the end of the season and you predicted them to finish 1st, you would have no points for Slough. However, if you predicted them to finish tenth, you would receive 9 points. The same logic is applied to all teams to give you a total points score.

 

In 2005/6 season, the winning score was 72 points, 2006/7 was 78.

 

In the event of a tie, correct positions from 1st down will decide the winner. i.e. If someone predicts first place correctly and as the same score as someone else who has predicted first place wrong, the first person would win.

 

In addition, I will request the number of points for the title winners and the bottom placed side at the end of the season to be predicted. The lower score will win.

 

Entries will be accepted until kick off on the 18th August and I hope we can get more than the 45 who took part last year.

Chris, what have you heard about the Royalists? I've heard that their pitch still isn't playable and that all their money has gone on DA's pie quota. Rumour has it that their supporters will all soon be sporting extra limbs due to the installation of a telephone mast but it is uncertain as to whether this will be a benefit to their players. Although if they have kept hold of Seeds maybe he will be able to get some spring off an "extra" leg.

I just think with Michael Chennels (22), Matt Seedel (18), Ben Porter (16) goals each last season and a couple of good players in from AFC, a year at this level, a good addition in Dave Anderson and if they can get Jon Case fit they should have a good season.

I think it's a good point Chris. If they can sort out the defence they certainly have the goals to win the league. I just could not resist the chance to have a pop at Windsor. I think we will do alright in the league this season but expect them to finish above us.
