how the hell can not doing something so important be an oversight.bloody hell they are not running a multi national company its only a small football club.it proves something we have known for a long time, how bad the running of the club really is

Then something needs to be done to sort it out. If I read things correctly, an oversight over a relatively small amount of money has occurred, which the club is trying to put right.

If you believed the forums, we owe shed loads of money which we cannot pay, we are in imminent danger of folding, our backer has pulled out, points deduction imminent, insolvency etc etc.

If the club statement is correct, how can the other speculation have helped

1) The support of the fans

2) Confidence of the league and the community in the club

3) Our chances of attracting any decent players

4) Our chances of getting this right next time?

Football is a very dangerous business to be in for sure, but you might think the pitfalls could be negotiated more assuredly if these things were tackled in the most professional way possible. And maybe it is time to recognise that the fans of this club, whatever and whenever the crisis, have always risen to the challenge and pitched in to help, and so it is pretty annoying to be left in the dark with only the horrible speculations to light the way.

All very well MF; but as Styx above your post points out-you can't afford oversights with HMRC.

People are always out there to put the knife in; so don't let them have the opportunity in the first place.

Although they eventualy got away with it; the wimbledon secretary only made a small oversight-it cost them 18 points.

I have every sympathy with part time officials-most do it for love-but they must understand that they have responsibilities or they should not take such roles on

To default on an obligation to HMRC is 100 times worse than playing an unregistered player.

HMRC take no prisoners !!

Excuse my comparison with the Wimbledon case, but its interesting that about the time of the initial alleged 'default' that we took Wimbledon's side.

Did the club know this was coming !!

I'm sure my speculation a couple of months ago, as to how we blew the chance of promotion so spectacularly;and that maybe a few did not want promotion;and my conspiracy theory will remain just that-useless speculation.

specualtion as maybe june but it wasnt all speculation and the fact that after everything we have all been through this should not be happening we all seem to have been walking on egg shells for a long time now and it just seems to be problem after problem after problem and maybe you have a lower panic button than the rest of us i still believe there is more to this than meets the eye. Surely after everything people behind the scenes should be working thier asses of making sure this sort of thing shouldnt happen and start treating the fans with a little more courtesy and respect. This club has to be the worst for information and bonding with thier bread and butter......... US!!
