I hate to be cynical, but all this talk of the new sign and the Tour de France opportunities... exactly how much coverage will be shown as the riders dash past the Stonebridge Road roundabout? And how many commentators will even make mention of it...?

 

Personally, while it's a novelty and all that, I can't see it doing us much good at all... so bah humbug!

To be practical, even if there are cameras at that point, are they likely to be placed...

(a) On the narrow strech of pavement facing the ground so that the new sign is in full view.

OR

(B) on the big wide piece of paving with room for their trucks etc facing completely away from the ground.

Answers on a postcard please.

And hey ... some of the guys above may have had an ironic or tongue in cheek angle to their posting .... maybe

 

Looking at the state of our heap of a Ground, its probably best that its not shown on the tele - it will put new people off ever coming !

And going back to the earlier point about us probably not gaining much from the coverage,your probably right,but if it helps us raise our profile in the slightest its surely a good thing?The idea about sending the tv company some info seemed a good idea aswell,think it's shown on Eurosport these days though,not C4!

I doubt the French public will be flocking to Thames Gateway in their droves when they see the rolling hills and friendly faces of Swanscombe... grin
