Phew...............................

Recommended Posts

what a relief....... the CCL AGM went without a hitch and Bookham and Dorking are were they should be in the Premier division, Pleased that Tongham won their vote to stay in the league too after a difficult season.

I have not commented on the situation at Dorking as I said I wouldn't until things where resolved, well for the coming season things are sorted if not for the longer term (on going discussions).

I have to say reading various post on various site, I am sad to see personal attacks on the current incumbents of Dorking FC, these are honest hard working people who have cleared the clubs debts they picked up when they took over and have been committed to running the club for many years.

Yes, personally we at Bookham have a close and good relationship with them, yes, they may not have run the club perfectly but show me a club that does in everyones view. What is forgotten is that in the last couple of years long serving members of DFC have sadly passed away, it is very difficult to find committed replacements as every club knows and this has increased the work load on the few people committed to the club.

I know Dorking Fc are looking for active people and maybe it's the case that people who have criticsied the club in the past and the owners of the club, get together and see what both parties can offer. Yes pride will have to be swallowed on both sides but this could be the way forward.

Regarding the state of Meadowbank, who in there right mind would invest there own personal money into a ground which for the last few years has been subject to various planning proposals, hence the ground is in a run down state. If/when MVDC grant a new lease (I hope its when) Dorking FC plan improvements to the facilities, the support of the people of Dorking I believe is essential for the club to survive, as with any club.

Bookham FC are but a small village club who are playing well above their rightful position which is credit to those in the teams, managers and officials who over many years have worked to achieve their current position and long may this continue. To have the issues hanging over our club for the last few months has not been enjoyable and it would have been a travesty if we had been relegated due to outside issues after our 1st season in senior football and thankfully for next season we are in the Premier and out aim is to build on this years 4th from bottom finish.

I know hope we can all build towards the start of the season and hope people will be united behind there clubs.

These are my personal thought and not those of Bookham FC or Dorking FC, any inaccurate statements made is purely a typing error for which I apologise for, I will not be drawn into arguments or further discusions as I cant be a8sed and it's all been type before.

Thanks you sad kent for bothering to read my waffle, get a life sado's smile

Can you imagine teffs playing a season with threat of eviction hanging over both clubs?

DFCL and the council need to sort this out.

If the council intend to evict then DFCL should go.

If the council change their mind then they should renew the lease and some bridge building is needed.

Lets be honest though, why did DFCL get themselves in this position anyway?

Situation seems to be DFCL will sort out the ground when they have been given a lease, Council will give a lease when ground sorted out.
