peace, love, happiness..blah blah etc etc is all well and good.. but never lose sight of the following facts

1.war has been responsible for most of the big technoligal advanves.. sure they would have happened eventually but when? we could all be having to spend 7 nights on a crappy ship with no radar trying to get to the west indies worrying about bumping into greenland by mistake..

2.war has been responsible for some of the lowest youth crime levels ever.. everyone pulls together in a crisis and most young ciminals are to busy getting shot in the stomach and dieing alone and scared in some foriegn field to be nipping in through your kitchen window to pilfer your 42 inch plasma flat screen

3.war is agreat adventure for young people who would normally take drugs and look scruffy.. its like a great big activity adventure weekend that lasts for 3 years.. well providing you dont cop a leg full of shrapnel
