WEALDSTONE'S big pre-season friendly against Watford has been switched to Harefield United FC's Preston Park ground as Chestnut Avenue will not be ready in time to stage the match.

 

The Hornets have promised to send along a strong team of first team squad members for what will be Wealdstone's opening pre-season match, which will kick off at 7.45pm on Wednesday, July 18.

 

Stones, who have been switched back to the Ryman Premier Division from the Southern League, have several other attractive clashes in a healthy line up of nine pre-season games arranged.

 

They will return to face their former landlords Edgware Town at the White Lion Ground on Tuesday, July 24. The Wares, treble winners in the Spartan League, have been promoted to the Ryman Division One North.

 

Stones' only game at Chestnut Avenue will be against the recently amalgamated Hayes and Yeading club on Saturday August 4.
