Scarborough out - but possibly a Scarborough team, (formed by the supporters club) will play in the NCE League but not at their own ground. This does not affect the set up, as no one will replace them in the NPL.

And Upminster were voted out of the EIL but were re-instated when they rightly pointed out that they had not in fact been voted out.

A vote at the EOL AGM voted to exclude Upminster by 42 votes to 21, exactly two thirds. However, Upminster appealed, pointing out that League Rules require a majority of more than two thirds. Hence, the club have been reinstated and have survived in the EOL by a single vote.

Exactly what I wrote on the another site, word for word. Great minds think alike?

Upminster have retained their status in the league, and that is what matters. The EIL is quite a strong set up, especially at the senior division, and a direct merger with the ESL would be an excellent move for all concerned. The only real drawback in the EIL is the standard of some of the grounds, although clubs like Frengord, Manford Way, Broomfield, White Ensign and quite a few more have very good set ups.

I would much rather go to EIL clubs than to ESL grounds in many cases.

Seems that there are now two Scarborough teams wanting to enter the NCE1.

One is called AFC Scarborough and appears to be connected to one or more of the officials of the Scarborough who have folded.

The other is called Scarborough Athletic, and they seem to be more supporters club based.

According to reports, only one of them will be admitted. Neither of them will play at the old ground alongside Mount Oliver, but will groundshare - AFC Scarborough are rumoured to want to share with Bridlington.

Seems that the council rejected an application by the original club to remove the covenant on the land.
