Slough Observer website

[PJ-STFC]

Query for Chris/Gary...

 

On the homepage of the Slough Observer website is a set of links to local sports clubs (see sidebar at left).

 

Top of the list are Maidenhead United and Windsor FC.

How come STFC is not on the list?

Its because their are hosting the clubs web sites through they own site.... ours is independantly hosted which STSA pay fees for and the quality is better....(I Think that is the answer)

 

See todays observer ...a bit miss quoted today again...I just can not understand the observer , it just wants juicy stories.. not the facts....

I agree, the STFC site is very good, and rather better than many other non-league club sites I've seen (although I haven't examined the Windsor/Maidenhead sites to compare them specifically).

 

It was only after I had posted my original message that I stumbled on the Observer page that stated they were hosting the other clubs' sites, and this could well explain the absence of STFC from the list.

 

It would be nice if they provided a link to non-hosted sites such as STFC, but maybe they're only interested in the money... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I have spoken to them about this and they had refused to add a link in that section to our site on the basis that they would only put in sites that they hosted.

 

I also asked them if they would do a STFC section on their site, which was also declined.

Good to know who your friends are...

...I had mistakenly thought that they were providing a service to the community.

 

It would seem that 'thisisslough.com', is not as all-inclusive as it suggests!
