Sammy Was Ill

According to the report in the Observer today Sammy was ill on Saturday and missed training on Thursday.

 

Steve Browne is quoted as saying

 

"But the team is not about Sammy Winston. Its about 18 or 19 players. No one knew that Sammy was ill and missed training on Thursday, no one knew that he should not have even been on the bench"

Steve and Sammy aren't even speaking probably. Sammy pays no attention to Steve in the dressing room as it's not worth his effort, and I don't blame him.

 

Steve's on a power trip and trying to flex his supposed muscle by laying into Sammy. It's almost as if Ricky Browne's mates get first pick, then the rest of the team is done on a random pick basis.

 

As far as I am aware, there is nothing wrong with Sammy, just Browne being an ar$e.

 

The good thing about this is though, having spoken to a couple of players, some of them were very happy recently when Browne wasn't present at training and it was taken by Eddie and Gilkes. They felt they got a lot more out of it without the 'great leader' there.

 

He's lost the respect of the fans, and now he's fast losing the respect of his players along with the other club management around him. He's part of the virus which is currently killing this club. The cure? Who knows. Changing two people instantly whilst at the same time securing the long term future of the club is the top priority.

I do hope he is not using the sammy case against the supporters ?? just for spite...??

 

hope not !!! maybe if Steve thinks we can gain promotion , then the best team should be put out ! and then if the team gets promoted maybe that would speak louder then all those angry words ?

If sammy was ill, and that was the reason for him being left out, then since he should now be better, there will be no problem with him starting tomorrow!!! It still doesn't explain why he has been dropped for other matches though (always assuming it is true)

 

On the PR front, it says wonders for Browne's communication that both newspapers, as well as the fans, thought Browne had dropped him.
