What's Goin' On

What the hell is going on at Hartsdown Park, are the management settling in their Ivory Tower of an office, determined to alienate every supporter they've got. Even the local press is a barren wasteland for information now (true info or not), but certainly in the last two publications there has been nothing about Margate FC (free publicity chances going out the window). Ramsgate however have been extremely well covered, a page here, a half-page there. Margate FC - sod all. Wake up MFC or you might end up sorely regretting your lack of communication with the fans and press alike.

MFC is KP. He gets what he wants put on the website hence why we just get a press release on there once in a while but no proper news stories every few days. He pulls all the strings. Seems like everyone is his puppet now even Trotty. Obvious that RT has been told not to tell Craig Tucker anything now

THIS STINKS

Is it just me or does it seem like the fans don't matter at all? Met Police announce that Harte has signed for us, yet several days on we hear nothing. Theres a cant be arsed attitude from a couple of individuals running the club. Does she do anything?

tbh I do think the club has a problem with communication generally. But as long as there are good things going on behind the scenes that maybe we dont know about, then OK.

If we get a decent group of players together for next season and get some long overdue progress on the ground, we will all be happy enough with that.

Agree completely with that. This time of year is always the same, leaks, rumours, plots etc. MFC always seem to be slow with announcements, but that in itself not necessarily bad thing. They have to be sure. One thing is for sure it not some kind of anti fan thing.

You have to ask whether slagging off the club will achieve the dialogue you want......

Our club is like an iceberg, a little bit out in the air and huge things lurking out of sight. Well, hope springs eternal, I have always been partial to lurking huge things, but that's another story.

It would be better in the close season to have a bit of news now and again. Otherwise the vacuum where the news should be rapidly fills with rubbish.

On the other hand, if wonderful signings, the start of the 5 a side works, and the announcement of a spectacular friendly all come in a rush at the end of the close season I dare say we would forgive the club...?

I thought that with the sudden news vacuum the Office staff were on holiday <or overrun processing season ticket applications> ... but then they announce that nonsense about whether they should ban smoking in the open air on the Forum.

How does that take priority over announcing that we've signed a new player (whose last team told the Press a few days ago)?

Trying to support a club from 150 miles away is difficult and others like me must rely on the website as there is no access to local papers, but it is very frustrating that no news of any real importance is displayed there. Even more frustrating is the fact that you check on many other local teams sites and find that news is a prime concern for their club officials. Whatever people might say to support the club on this post, we have got it wrong and no news on signings, stadium, 5 a side is an insult to the loyal fans of the club. In fact the forum is the ONLY aspect of the site that is worth looking at.

Shouldn't be too concerned, boys and girls. We are a full time club, and getting information from our club is like drawing blood from a stone. Eg our "huge " sponsorship deal was given a month's notice, either to sort out the fine print or build up excitement, when D day came, the goalposts were moved and the date changed. Luckily for the fans, 99% of the media ans fans guessed correctly that it would be Eurostar, it was published a couple of days before the final announcement. Not a word on how much, what it will mean for the club, or how the club will benefit.

In fact, it was totally underwhelming.

And still no news on whether the manager will sign a new contract.
