Hi everyone I haven't disappeared off the face of the earth just been very busy lately trying to add some spice to the good old ESL and I am delighted to announce, now that all our clubs have been told, that Enfield(1893)FC are joining us next season in place of Brentwood Town and, latterly, Ilford FC who have been " saved" at Step 4 and therefore Enfield (1893) will go into the League Cup Group A as agreed at the AGM on Monday night. They will continue to play at Ware FC which should please Stansted and Sawbridgeworth Town ! Negotiations are at a very advanced stage regarding two brand new clubs entering the ESL as well but it would be totally unfair of me, at this juncture to make any further mention of names etc in case the quest fails, but if it all goes well then fans will have more " different" grounds to visit in 2007/2008 so we shall see, next week, I hope.

No application has been received from Canning Town FC or Newham United so it would also not be very fair to speculate on that scenario, please. Will be back soon !

Wow! Potentially an 18 team constitution for next season.

Well done LC as it will bring us on a par (at least for a season) with the new Unibond 1N and 1S except for their extra 8 match segment plan.

If so it presumably means that Enfield FC have folded and a new club has been formed, and permitted to play at Step 5.

Can anyone confirm?

No. But I understand they are very nice at this time of year, and the weather probably can't be any worse.

 

I am aware that EFC have been 'removed from their holding company' which is in reveivership, and has large debts, and this has led to them dropping a level, but an EFC fan has stated (on our forum) that EFC itself has NOT folded.

 

For all I know they may have been called EFC(1893) previously.

 

I am just trying to ascertain if that really is the club's actual name, and if so, for how long.

 

It's an Enfield thing, really.

fckn outrageous...three times the debt that we had and dropped one league....

one rule for the rich and one for the poor little old urchins... grin
