Ollie Schultz on transfer list

Ah, but Mr Goldberg could soon be sending us plenty of shekels for Danny Hockton which would give Trott some cash to play with.

Of course, as Ramsgate's website says they will only listen to offers from higher league clubs. But that depends on the likes of Bromley, Welling or Gravesend 1) Being interested 2) Being able to offer OS regular first-team football. Otherwise the Rams are stuck with a player who doesn't want to be with them, which is never a healthy situation.

Agree 100%!
Both are quality players. I think it will be good for all local fans if OS gets a big move. He really is a very good defender for nl football. I wonder if the likes of Gillingham and Charlton might be interested.

Have to say as well it is great that he and the Rams have proven a lot of you wrong about local players not being good enough!!!!

Lets not get carried away here Rayw. Shultz is a decent centre back I agree. He has done well for you over the years & I am sure he can climb the ladder of success further but to Conference National level at most i.m.o. To mention the likes of Gillingham & Charlton seems to me to be rather overstating his ability somewhat.I would have liked to see him come here obviously as in this league he shines but he does have faults if you watch him & though those faults can be ironed out he certainly isn't the finished article yet, not enough to make the jump up that you are implying he is capable of. Hes good, very good but he aint THAT good!

I agree with you cookie he is not the finished article.
But he has what a lot of league clubs would look for eg speed, strength, height, skill, determination.

And clubs like Charlton dont just look for polished diamonds.

I think that Margates rather shortsighted policy of ignoring local talent has been exposed by the success of JW and the Rams.

And i say that not cos im a Rams fan. I want both clubs to do well. Thanet needs a succesful club.
I say it cos without huge funds clubs need to build on strong foundations.
Last year the top scorer in the Conference was Benson for Dagenham. The previous season he was playing for White Ensign in the Essex`Olympian League...Roughly equivalent to playing for Betteshanger Welfare!

One of the best things about last season for the Gate was that a reserve team was formed and gave some local players a chance to show what they could do. This was probably influenced by the success of the Rams.

jw and the rams sucess will end this season the rest know what ther are about now and they will loose more than they win its a sure thing they will flirt with relegation [

A brave prediction!!!!!

Mind you there were plenty of Margate fans who predicted when the Rams went up from the Kent League that the gap in Class would be too much for them and they would go straight down....

And then the Rams won the league!

And before last season.....People said yeah OK the Rams did well in the Rymans 1 but the Rymans premier would be too much for them..

Some of us thought they would more than hold their own.

And they certainly did.

They may be losing a couple of really good players..But they have some other good players...

And everybody with more than 1 brain cell must have realised by now that Jim Ward is a very good manager.

I think most agree.

What i think has been interesting over the summer months is that there have been many sensible posts showing mutual respect for both Thanet clubs on both clubs forums.

Is it that some of the more hotheaded posters go to ground in summer, and come the season, the more vitriolic posts will start re-appearing; or will the love/love relationship between Margate and ramsgate suppporters carryover into the season proper.
