Pre-Season Friendlies

Sadly, I'm going to be at the Test Match and will be missing the trip to Canvey. Hopefully I'll be seeing Monty get a five for rather than getting sunburnt on the north side of the M25.

The pre-season line up is now completed. If someone were to contact us regarding an away friendly on the 24th, it would be considered, but having spoken with Darron, he is equally happy to have a training session that evening.

Whilst it perhaps is not the most glamourous of pre-season line ups, I am greatful to all the clubs involved that we have been able to schedule friendlies with given we started months after other clubs in arranging them.

Hopefully next season we will be able to arrnage these much earlier on in the season and arrange more local away friendlies.

Thanks guys. It was a lot harder than what I expected. Hardly anyone wants to host a match at their own ground in order to save their own pitch and obviously many clubs go into the summer months with a deal of stability so can plan for these things.

When I spoke with Guildford last week, whilst Normandy was the expected venue, they had some concerns over the state of the pitch and were looking for alternatives. I will have the venue confirmed by the end of this week at the latest.

Middling. The realists out there should appreciate that the aim for this season has to be consolidation. I think given a bit of good luck we could find ourselves challenging for the play offs but so long as security in this division is achieved as soon as we should be happy.

In addition for Tuesday, as it is essentially in an open field, Guildford will not be able to charge an admission fee. I will ask though that anyone who does make the journey across would be kind enough to dontate to Guildford to help them with the costs of hosting the friendly.

I will ask that they do a bucket collection, so if you could spare some change to go towards the costs, it would be most appreciated.
