I see that Grays are after Margates Danny Hockton a prolific striker who scored 39 goals last season from 40 starts. He wants to play at a higher level and full time. Surely he would be an ideal replacement for MacDonald.

I'd imagine we might well have had a look, but we don't leak cash like Grays or Bromley, etc!

I'm told that we looked at Hockton, and decided that hewasn't good enough for the fee being asked.

 

Will score in the Ryman League, but may well not make it at Blue Square Premier.

 

We shall see how he does in the Southern Division

I saw Hockton a couple of times last year.

 

Although there is no doubt he can finish I thought he looked lightweight and didn't seem to have the workrate required of a Confer.... sorry Blue Square side.

 

I'm not sorry we haven't taken a chance on him.

News

A shareholder called the Club on Saturday morning advising us that he had received a letter from the Club’s Administrators, Langley Group LLP. This letter stated that the Club was in breach of its CVA agreement and as such a petition was to be ordered for the winding up of the Company. The breach was not in relation to keeping up with the CVA payments but to a modification of the agreement requiring all future payments to HM Revenue and Customs be made on time.

 

The Directors have been representing themselves to both the Administrators and HM Revenue & Customs but have not yet reached a resolution. They are, however, hopeful that a resolution can be reached.
