Look who's spreading rumours!

Recommended Posts

Rhodes posted on another's forum (you know, the one he slated for being frequented by anoraks) " Darren - Thanks for this information, Kentish Town could well be the surprise package next season as rumour has it they are the next AFC Wimbledon and FC United with former Nigerian International player Clement Temile as their Head Coach, father of young Israeli sensation Toto Tamuz Temile. "

Slight problem for Rhodes - each of the clubs he's comparing KTFC with began with large fan bases of over 2,000!

Horace - Why did you feel it necessary to highlight my post on another's Forum, I post on Forums in virtually every Country in the World spreading the gospel. The post says exactly what it does on the tin, namely that 'the great one' is the proud Father of one of the biggest footballing talents in the World today.

The Spurs Fan - Well surely that goes without saying however I'm somewhat reluctant to shout about our chances from the rooftops this time round as was the case last year as every game for us last season was like the FA Cup, World Cup and Champions League Finals all rolled into one as we were widely regarded as the Man Utd of Division 1.

No, this year you'll be concerned with being the Man Utd Reserves of Reserve Division 1.

Oh, sorry, following your own logic regarding the Sport London e Benfica situation, I forgot that we can't say that until Kentish Town Reserves' place in the SSML is formally ratified at the AGM.

That's mildly amusing however that was very much the case last season before your time on here and you can check back on previous threads if you want to as it's all documented, Maastricht agreement style. The smaller teams however, such as New Bradwell St Peter and Arlesey Athletic, came to Claremont Road like rabbits caught in the headlights, as playing at the famous old stadium must have been like Wembley to them, and as a result we rolled them over quite easily, I think it will be pretty much the same scenario next season at the Copthall Stadium.

Okay, here's one for you. You seem to have a thing about Stony Stratford Town, I was very flattered to be offered the job of their Club Secretary recently however politely declined as I feel that there is much to still be achieved at Kentish Town and because I don't drive travelling would have been problematic:

I thought it would give everyone a laugh! You say that "its rumoured" (by whom????) that Kentish Town could be the next AFC Wimbledon or FC United. Both of these were formed as breakaways of professional league clubs with huge supporter bases, whereas your club is playing above its station because it happened to be lodging at Haringey when the SSMFL decided to demote Div 1 clubs with no floodlights. This regardless of the fact that, in your case, the league replaced a demoted club with its own ground by one with absolutely NO security of tenure!

Horace - I was talking more on the lines of climbing the Pyramid, Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing style, as is the case with AFC Wimbledon and FC United, you don't necessarily need a huge fan base to do that although I agree it helps. Your other comments are purely sour grapes, we are certainly not playing above our station and would have been promoted in April had a number of events not transpired cruelly against us.

And I would have become chairman of Derby County if.......

Of course AFC Wimbledon and FC United are making progress because of their huge fan base! Your club (like mine) is just like thousands of others - pipe dreamers waiting for a fat wallet to come along.

I'm not saying that the team you have is playing above it's station - I'm talking about the club!

Hold up Rhodesy. Using your logic, you can't be like Man Utd because all your players need to come from Kentish Town and have Kentish Town Ancestry. If you're going to be like Man Utd., God forbid, you'll be having stomach ulcers 'cause you'll have to sign 2 portuguese players that are going to be stars of your team!

I find this statement somewhat strange, surely it means exactly the same. How can you say that our Club are playing above their station, we are from a hugely populated Borough of North London similar to Haringey but I don't hear you say that they are playing above their station which goes to show that you have some sort of problem with Kentish Town similar to the huge chip on Football Man's shoulder that he carries.
