Manager Jon Underwood told us “Mark Anderson has taken the decision to leave the club. He will be training with Godalming in pre-season with a view to signing for them. The major factor in his decision was the fact it was nearer to home for him making it easier for him to fulfil his family commitments. Obviously I am disappointed to lose someone who I have a great deal of respect for and whose goals were so important to us last year and I wish him every success in the future. I am looking at this positively though and with Mark leaving it opens the door for other players such as Garry Sargeant to prove that they can fill his boots.”

On the flip side, Underwood’s rebuilding is gathering pace with four more signings:

Michael Pratley - goalkeeper - 24 years old - very consistent performer in recent seasons who will battle for the No.1 shirt with another newcomer who I hope to announce later this week.

Craig Hiscock - 24 years old - captain and player of the year at last season at Reading Town. Very strong player who can play in several positions but is expected to play for us in his favoured role as a defensive midfielder.

Darren Russell - defender - 27 years old - played previously for TNS in the League of Wales. A physically strong player with a good range of passing.

Aston Robinson - striker - 22 years old - extremely quick, big, strong and a real handful for defences. Made a big impact at Reading Town when he joined during last season, scoring 15 goals in 22 games.

Unders’s commented “All four of these players were being chased by other teams in our league but we have managed to sign them which is a real boost.

In addition, two ex-Robins will be training with us in pre-season, Adam Crittenden and Jamie Clark, along with another local lad Joel Havermans, a midfielder who did very well at Flackwell Heath last season. All three are very keen to prove themselves and play for the club and they will be given every chance to do so in pre-season

Wasn't Pratley the Reading Town keeper from last season ? If so Colin Millard, the assistant manager, has used his influence as last season's Reading Town manager, to get them there. Joel Havermans wouldn't by any chance be related to Mick Havermans, the former Bracknell striker. If he plays anything like Mick used to he will be a very good signing. I expect to see Bracknell doing well the season from what I have heard so far.

Look forward to meeting you all at Krooner Park when you visit us for the pree-season friendly.
