That's the nature of a reserve side. Some will come some will go. Nothing wrong with them going out to clubs in lower leagues to gain possible 1st team experience. You cannot spend your time in the reserves you have to have a will; a need to improve; ambition to move forward. Hopefully as you develop you will come back or maybe move onto higher leagues.

This coming season we will hopefully have a player like Louis Smith come through, and have opportunities for 4 or 5 others to get out there and prove to Trotty they are worth a place in the first team.

Towards the end of last season i got a little fed up of the sniping of certain parents about there offspring and, what they were or were not doing and who's fault it was. It began to remind me of the parentle touch lines at junior games on a Sunday afternoon.

At the end of the day you play for a club, you give 100% . If your best is not deemed good enough at that club by the coaches then you move on, take yourself elsewhere , work hard and prove them wrong.

My spies tell me it is a club in Kent who do not have thier own ground at the moment. They have confirmed they have signed a central midfielder but are keeping the name quiet.

 

Suppose it could be a good move for him in the long term.

Sorry Tony I'm only being honest. No need to be so rude either. However I realise you are merely sticking up for your son which is understandable.I cant really say I've enthused about either player but that is because they have not been seen too much, a point you & others have brought up on numerous occasions & quite rightly too.Therefore I may be doing them both an injustice. Maybe they will prove me wrong I don't know but from what Ive seen of Yianni he will he will do us more good than those two will at Ramsgate from what Ive seen of them & it IS only in my opinion. Please allow others their rightful opinion without the verbal name calling please.Its not necessary.

You mustn't keep attacking people because they don't think of your sons ability in the way you would wish them too.

If it does turnout that the pair do a better job over there than Yianni does over here please point it out to me come the end of the season & I will willingly admit to have been wrong.

A real shame to lose Wisker he looked a good lad when he featured always put a lot of effort in when he came on, and no were near as eratic as say Standen for example .

 

As for holden he had a few chances and failed to show what he could do lets hope we dont regret realising both these players next season.

 

As for who got the better deal that remains to be seen its still early days im sure he wouldnt have released Wisker & Proths if he didnt have another centrel midfielder coming in at some point.

Indeed if I was given the choice between Danny or Dean I would plump for Danny everytime but only because I think Standen is vastly overated & brings nothing to the team. O.K on the one occasion he brought some magic into the game v Ramsgate but then so did Danny at Whitstable.Im not a fan of either but yes, Danny would be ahead of Standen for me anytime.I'll certainly go with that.

I guess its easy to pose the questios from the armchair,but its the manager who gets paid to make those decisions and stands or falls by them(of course-if he gets it wrong it does effect everybody).

Happy to back RT's judgement at this stage.

 

Its just so frustrating that you start to develop fringe players and then lose them; and we are likely to have a small squad again this year-probably without 3/4 fringe players who 'could do a job' in an emergency'.

 

Of course, if Holden and Wisker do well for Ramsgate-it may say a few things about the coaching/motivational abilities of the respective management teams-but there again-the same is true of Yianni in reverese.

It will be interesting to see how these players develop and progress under their new managers.

 

I have'nt seen Yianni Cookie,so i'll take you word that MarGate have got the better deal here

A very good point to make Michael & one that could have me sitting here in this armchair come the end of the season thinking how wrong I was & with egg on my face.But for now I feel we DO have the better deal.
