If anyone is aware of a company that would be interested in any form of advertising through the club this season, please could they pass on any contact details.

One of the big disappointments over the past few seasons has been the lack of marketing done by the club to the local companies to try and generate some extra income and this is being addressed this year.

Whilst we will be mailing out to many of the companies in Slough, it is better if we have a point of contact within a company to target for potential deals. Should anyone have any details that may be helpful, please can they let me know either on here, by a private message, or email to secretary@sloughtownfc.net

I'll ask our newly appointed "Head of Marketing" tomorrow. I would not hold your breath mind. Which is sound advice for all.

Thanks KT, any information would be most appreciated.

HR, I've already got the base of a general letter to go out, but we were hoping to get direct contacts first, rather than generic letters which will probably go straight in the bin!

I'll send you an email with the letter on, so you an give your thoughts and we'll send it out to a lot of Slough companies next week. It's been held up with the groundshare agreement, so now that it out of the way, we'll see what we can generate.

Gary, if you let me have a list of companies that you intend to approach I'm more than happy to do some research so that we can personalise the letters i.e. address them to named people, in specific relevant roles and try and tailor some information specifically linked to their company.

I have posted this before i believe but always thought it was a good idea. I think i saw it being done at windsor Rugby club. Not sure if it is possible as we already have a first team shirt sponsor, but we could do it for the away shirt which i believe we are going to wear more often and ask companies for say £100 and that guarantees them an advert in the match day programme and maybe 2 tickets per game, but then when you have got all the companies paying their £100 or set amount then you can do a draw and the first one out gets to be shirt sponsor on away shirt and then maybe 4 or 5 more get advertising boards around the ground if we are allowed to put some up!

Let me know when you do something about schools, Tom and Scarlett's schools will no doubt be interested especially as we are playing at Beaconsfield (it's just up the road).

Don't know if you know but there is a new Tesco opening in Farnham Common at the end of the month. They might be worth a letter given the proximity to the ground.

I'm a marketing and PR manager so a word of advice - it'd be better to approach smaller firms rather than the likes of Tesco etc. These companies have little say in local advertising and budgets will be operated from head office anyway. I would concentrate on the likes of pubs, gyms, sports shops etc and be very competative - anything you get is better than nothing.

Perhaps you'd like to assist us with the letters and marketing?

Whilst I will be aiming at the bigger companies, my main focus will be towards the smaller, local companies. Working for a multi-national company, I know their advertising would not really be looking at local level, despite the reduction in costs.
