I would guess it would be the other members of the existing Trust Board who were not at the meeting on Friday.

Martin, without saying anything too specific, would you agree it was a huge success?

I think that after last season results Roy would think that them just turning up was a huge success.

Ted, a press release is coming, but I have to say that it was without doubt the most positive and constructive meeting I have ever attended between the football club and representatives of the council. It was a cross party meeting and officers were also present.

Not wishing to be pessimistic but I've heard this "it's all positive" speech once too often from Roy to believe it's anything more than it's ever been.

 

Sorry, but when you get told the same message over and over and over and over and nothing comes of it, you start to apply the crying wolf concept when you hear it again.

 

I really hope I'm wrong.

True, but given members of the trust were also present at the meeting last Friday and they believe it was positive hopefully it is for a change.

Seems like it was also a success from the councils point of view. Arbour Vale looks like a front runner for a location.

Well, actions speak louder than words. I am pleased to hear that this meeting has been seen as a positive by all parties, but will remain sceptical until there is more than just talk

Hopefully, now we have the ball rolling on this, everyone can keep it moving quickly in the right direction.

There is a meeting being arranged, expected within the next 10-14 days, which will involve the council's property developer officer and legal officer, but no councillors. For me, this is the main point.

 

A site has been identified and agreed, as Richard Stokes has said through the Observer, and they are happy to proceed with this without too much involvement meaning the politics has well and truly been taken out of it all.

If it is Arbour Vale (which it seems is one of a few sites the club is looking at) its here. The school there is moving to a new site and the land available is being sold off come September I believe:
