Decision on Dorking FC

shirts

No I havent seen any.

nearest I saw was Welsh Rugby tops Perhaps they will be ok for the fan.(!)

Claret and blue quarters ?

My memory of the sixties is a bit black and white but I think first team had red green quarters and second kit was claret blue quarters.

Or perhaps that was just my school!

Mr VC Handy Andy might remember

My apologies APM. I assumed, (wrongly), that someone had decided to vary your sign-in to raise a laugh. Could have been worse.

Yup, there's always The Dorking Girls, and even the possibility of yet another female team in the coming 2007/2008 season.

Then, if I get really bored, the prospect of a long protracted 18 month court case I suppose.

What fun !

By the way. I note no-one has commented on the FA meeting yesterday ?

More secret squirrel, I ask ?

Sorry Guffs, but to be honest unless you're taking a whole gap-year holiday, I think the chances are pretty slim !

It's nothing to do with me, but the word entrenchment springs to mind !

What has been lost with all the talk on the future of Dorking is that everyone involved with Dorking FC Ltd and if you want to call us the break aways we all have the same aim and that it to make sure Dorking has a Senior Football Club.

The way we see it is that with the Section 25 being served at some point over the next few days or week this puts the future of football in Dorking in jeopardy. As I am led to believe if Dorking FC Ltd decide to fight the Council and it goes to court this can take a maximum of 6 months and if Dorking FC Ltd do not win they then have a maximum of 3 months to leave the ground.

This would take them to Feb and they would not able to complete the season.

From the storeys I have been told and heard the biggest mistake the current Dorking FC Ltd have done is not to let anyone get involved, help and listen to people. The difference of Professional football and local football is that fans want a say and the fans make the club.

Surely you can't believe the main focus of a club like Dorking should be the Girls and Youth sides. I know this is a great part of any club but come on.

With regards to the meeting with the FA I am sure Dorking FC Ltd will put something on their website for the 1 or 2 people left that can get on to their message board.

Some interesting points there APM. The most inportant thing at CTFC is the Youth set up. Without out we would be a club struggling at the wrong end of the CCL. Because we have players from the youth section including some that have been with the club since they were 7 and 8 there is more of an identity. Our U17 side next year may well make up a good % of our Reserve side. Camberley Town would be nothing without the Youth but the Youth would still be strong without the Senior club.

I agree having a youth set up is important and is what I got started when I was at Guildford and the Reserve side was made up of all Youth Team players. If you look at most of the teams finishing in the top 4 of most leagues, is this because they have a strong Youth Team, no it is because they have a strong Reserve Team.

But I think clubs lose the focus of the main aim has to be the Senior side.

With Committees getting smaller and smaller at clubs and more paper work needed to be done it becomes an impossible job sometimes.

would probably say fairly equal but would plump to Baggies if pushed. No quiet on the Wetern front mate. Anyone heard anything about the Dorking situation ?

These Girls teams must be something special if a club like Dorking is going to run on Girls football. How did they do last season?

It's a shame the the CCL Prem will lose 2 respected teams in the division, although I will not miss playing on that awful pitch twice next season.

I hope Dorking do stay in the league as i always love a little trip to meadow bank and also being an ex player, you dont like to see one of your ex teams in a situation like this.

Anyway thought id ask just that my mate is the 1st XI captain down at Cambo.

As it stands Dorking will be playing in CCL Premier but the league have left it open as they have said they need to be kept informed of any changes at the club or if anything is served with the notice.

Is going to cost the club loads of money in fighting the council
