Club statement re groundshare with Hornchurch FC

Following a series of meetings yesterday I can confirm Romford FC will continue to play at the Sports ground Rush Green next season and move into Hornchurch stadium the following season on a groundshare basis.

Following discussions yesterday with AFC H and the council it was agreed that there was an insufficient timeframe left to put this in place for this season. The groundshare will go ahead, but it was agreed that by staying at Rush Green all parties would have the opportunity to work alongside for a full season implementing all aspects of the share.

It has been confirmed that the groundshare will not affect either clubs quest for promotion nor will our move been seen as a "move for promotion purposes".

The two statements don't seem to add up. All parties were at the same meeting. For everybodies sake lets agree what was agreed so we don't have another 12 months of "what ifs and maybe"

hmmmmm...well we'll see but let's be under no illusions about this...for another club to gain entry to the stadium then the following has to happen

a trust set up to operate the stadium
all parties to agree to share the costs
all parties be able to share the costs
all parties to agree the usage

that will be akin to the division of arabia in 1916 and could take as long..

the material innaccuracy in that statement is over promotion..nothing was confirmed about that and Hx haven't even spoken to the conference league about their rules in that respect...

last year.. this year.. some time ever...?

Did I imagine it or did I read in the Recorder or Post a few weeks back a statement from AFCH to the effect:

No way would AFCH share with Romford for the 2007/8 Season.

They would however be vacating Bridge Avenue at the start of the 2008/9 season irrespective of if the new ground in St Marys Lane was ready or not!
