How have Kettering managed this ???

Recommended Posts

Blue Square North club Kettering Town have announced that Gianfranco Zola has confirmed that he will play for them in their A-Line pre-season tournament on Sunday, July 15th 2007.

Kettering`s managing director Kevin Meikle said: This is a fantastic coup for the club. He was voted Chelsea's best ever player, and is currently the Italian under-21 manager and we sure our supporters are looking forward to him pulling on a Poppies shirt.”

Meikle added: “We can also confirm that Christian Karembeu – a two-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid and European Championship and World Cup winner with France - will be joining Zola.

”We will confirm other names shortly, although six other internationals have provisionally confirmed their availability for this date. The format and other participants for the tournament will also be confirmed in due course.”

Does this God control us as pawns, or do we have true free will ?

Does God know the meaning of life, Does he care ?

Is God a Kettering fan...?

I think this matters...the FA should look into this

Firstly, its only a pre-season tournament, ie. friendlies.

Secondly, whilst Zola was a great player when at Chelsea etc. he is now well into his 40's and passed it.

Would you prefer to bring-in 'ringers' to play in the 'Fleets friendlies or use pre-season games for what they are intended, i.e. to get players match fit for the start of the season, to get players used to playing with each other and for the manager to look at potential signings for the season.

Unless Kettering are hoping to get Zola to sign-on for the 2007-08 season, which I very much doubt, it would appear to be a publicity stunt for what is an under performing club that once again missed out on promotion to the Conference National.

Indeed. Imran Ladek, the Kettering chairman, runs the place like a circus. A managerial merry-go-round, celebs popping in every now and again, and beaten to Conf North promotion by the likes of Farsley, Droylsden, Stafford and Southport over the last few years. A great return on his investment...

Morell Maison's performance in getting them to second in the league last season was unacceptable, apparently.

Just as well for Mr Ladak that his short-term replacement (now also departed), a certain Mr Westley, did such a better job in the play-offs.
