If you ask me, I don't know why we signed him in the first place. He likes to shout a lot, but doesn't seem to do much else. I don't think he's particularly poor, just irrelevant. If he has signed for you, I'm surprised, but I know there are people who disagree with my opinion of him.

I'm a bit gutted he's gone. I think Hx have a void in defensive midfield that Halle should fill nicely.

 

I'm sure he will do well at the Urchins.

As an aside, Halle's departure has probably freed up some spare cash to bring in a couple of signings.

 

Hopefully John Batch has someone in mind who can more than replace Richard Halle.

I disagree. I don't think we'd have been any better off than we are now. The only way I could see us improving on our season was by dropping our worst out-field player. I'm not going to name names, but had we dropped him, I believe we'd have finished in the play-offs. As for signings, a central midfielder would've done us the world of good, if we got a decent one. Like you say, we'd have been contesting the title.

Halle didn't do anything special enough to warrant him starting in front of Edgar or Roberts. Saying that we played him in Midfield after he's spent most of the season at Aveley in the heart of defence. He was supposed to be our midfield substitute for Dobbo who was shoring up the back but it didn't quite work out that well after a couple of games.

 

Perhaps with Halle, gone we might have room for a certain Mr. Lowes to come back into the side. Would be interested to know if Hx paid money for him though.

those days are long gone matt.....he wasn't on a contract...

Im gutted to be honest,i never thought we rally saw the best of him,but hoped next season we could build our midfield around him.

For what it's worth, I saw most of Halle's games.

I agree with Rib & Matt. ran around a lot, shouted a lot, but didn't really make that much of an impact.

i know many others would disagree, but Football is all about opinion isnt it?

I thought Rich Halle took a while to settle in the team but from the Arlesey game onwards he began to look a class signing.

 

You have to remember, he arrived at a time when the team were going through a poor spell and were producing some rather insipid displays. Thought he showed alot of promise and definitely gave us more options in free kick situations.

We can't keep a player in the team based on how well he can hit a free-kick.
