Conference club Crawley Town are set to appoint former Boston boss Steve Evans as their new manager.

The 44-year-old resigned from his job with the Pilgrims on 27 May with immediate effect.

He was originally appointed manager of Boston in October 1998 following the resignation of Greg Fee.

Evans led Boston United to promotion to the Football League in April 2002 but left the club at the end of a much publicised FA investigation.

If this actually turns out to be true, I am really undecided whether it is a marriage made in heaven or in hell. Almost a case of fact being stranger than fiction! I wonder what the reaction of Crawley's fans will be to their almost certainly becoming overnight candidate for most other "Conference" supporters' least liked club?
