Quite a coup for Dover. But after years of underachievement, he has quite a job to do to push them on. Probably worth about 200 more through the turnstiles though.

He's a 'trophy manager'. A big name (in Kent circles) but how much does he know about players in Ryman Div One South? Or local players in the Dover area? Reminds me of when Margate appointed Tommy Taylor - and that ended in tears. He'll be on a big wedge as well, I imagine.

Invictia Radio's sport department only think there is one team in Kent and only Gillingham outside the Premiership.

 

We might slate Radio Kent over Charlton but at least they realise other Kent team exist.

In case you've all had a collective memory loss, there was excited speculation on this very forum after Kinnear was sacked suggesting Hess would come to HP. You have to say a very impressive move by Dover. Apparently when he played for the Gills at Southwood in a friendly a few years ago the Rams players were saying that Gillingham hadn't been fantastically impressive as individuals. Except Hessenthaler, he was different class they said.

Done well in his last appointment!!!!lol, and might play I hear Dover Youth Policy there then, lol must have cost a fortune does not work everytime and if it Fails......

 

Jime Ward could have done just as well...lol if they fail in promotion next year.. I fail to see how the move can or could be good for him, in fact a step backwards may have been his only offer good luck to him working with that lot, have to say a good move for Dover they need him, maybe more pressure for us.

Oh well as said good luck, you would need that to work there, could be worse..... big name managers have a bad record when it comes to manageing at this type of level, forget your reserve side Dover or your Youth Policy he will bring in the players to do a job and get you out of that league. Job done well worth £800 pw price of cucumbers will go up!!!lol
