Kentish Town FC -Copthall Stadium

Recommended Posts

Saracens revamped plans for the Copthall Stadium, that include an innovative transport proposal which will reduce the percentage of supporters travelling by car, have gone down well with supporters and local residents alike and it appears to be all systems go. I just wonder where this leaves Kentish Town as the Club will need to declare to the SSML by 31 March where they will be playing next season:

Nellie - Why not just come clean, have the Club played their last game on the hallowed Copthall Stadium turf and you're desperately scrabbling around trying to find a new home. What's the present situation with Chase Lodge out of interest as there doesn't appear to have been any progress made since these articles nearly two years ago:

Okay, I'll contact Diane Culligan then and ask her the current position with Chase Lodge Playing Fields, she's straight forward and doesn't play guessing games

Why couldn’t Nellie have just come clean and informed us earlier

Sincerely sorry to hear this. Wishing all at KT the best of luck and the hope that their continued hard work in fighting these knob jockeys pays off.

Hopefully, they can find another location to continue playing.

Britman - The thing is, like I've said 101 times before, Kentish Town are their own worst enemies, the Club expects everything to fall into their laps and there's nobody innovative onboard to take the bull by the horns and make things happen such as a Diane Culligan at Hampstead FC for example, my uneducated guess, knowing Diane, is that she has become totally exasperated with the supposed partnership between the two Club's.

Loose and Britman thank you for your comments and best wishes.

Rhodes I dont have to "come clean about anything" especially to you.

Just to let everyone know (except Rhodes!!) we have had to give notice to the league as required because planning has not been granted yet and we dont want to miss the deadline that the league has set of 31 December. This has been done as a precaution as it was last year also.

Once again thank you for the NICE comments.

Rhodes,

I'm just wishing them well. I have no connection to them or any other team, apart from Cheshunt and Stansted. One where I grew up and one for Steve Foster, who gave everything for us at Southill. But I hate to see teams struggle in this day and age regarding groundshare issues or grading, etc.

Long live Non-League Football

  • 1 month later...

As the other Kentish Town thread was closed for no apparent reason shall we use this one now to chart progress of the beleaguered Club in their fight against being unceremoniously evicted from the Copthall Stadium at the end of this season. To be fair they can't really complain can they as they have had an innings of Sachin Tendulkar proportions at the Stadium since starting their legendary 2007/2008 Division 1 Championship campaign there.
