World Cup comes to The Fleet!

 

Yes, the 1966 World Cup will be at the Ebbsfleet Utd FC ground, Stonebridge Road, Northfleet, on Sunday May 27th, between 10am and 5pm and available to the Youth section and ladies teams only between 10am and 1pm.

 

Have your picture taken with the World Cup

 

 

 

 

As a special bonus you can also have your picture taken with the FA Cup and Community Shield

 

 

 

This is the chance of a lifetime so get on your England shirt and create a memory. Get to Stonebridge Road on May 27th, don’t miss out

Photographs will be charged for on the day at £8 each.

The "world cup" photograph looked decidedly odd. Almost a mixture of the original and the present trophies.

 

I recall reading that after Brasil were allowed to keep the Jules Rimet trophy that it was stolen and was indeed believed to have been melted down. Certainly it has not seen the light of day since.

I popped in to have a look. Looked a good opportunity for parents to take their kids down and have some photographs taken. I don't think many people turned up. Not surprising considering the lack of publicity. There's a surprise.

I only heard about it last night on this forum, plus Jess mentioned a World Cup day, but did not know what it was then. Again, problems with publicity.

What did the '1966 World Cup' actually look like, out of interest?

It was the Jules Rimet version. Too be honest I wished I'd had my picture taken but I spent what I had in the shop.

 

With regards to communication my opinion is this. The name change is just the shop front. The important thing is what goes on behind the scenes. AF Fleet fan says...different name..same problem. This is correct. It's not a name change thats going to bring people through the gate. The club is going to have to get up off its ass and start being a bit more customer friendly. The convenient thing about the name change is the amount of publicity gained without the club actually having to do anything. We need a marketing manager quickly.

DA11 is quite right, our club at times appears more secretive than MI5, just trying to know what's going on can be hard work, a marketing manager or a publicity specialist would appear to be a priority appointment. Let's hope someone with a bit of authority reads our posts and take note of our feelings and comments

We can only hope..........But they haven't in the past. The need for a Commercial Manager, and self promotion, has been brought up on the forum before!
