See you are indeed attempting to pigeinhole people again, why can't people like ABBA, Simon & Garfunkel, Saxon & Iron Maiden. I can certainly count CDS from all of the above in my collection, along with the Bee, Gees, Kate Bush, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. Music is universal and very wide ranging, which I'm afraid is something a control freak like you can never appreciate.
