The 'Other' Canvey Site

I was searching on Google to show my family in Trinidad a bit of Canvey. When the results come back I was amazed to find out that there was another CIFC site. The address is www.canveyisland-mad.co.uk. Has anyone else seen this? It doesn't seem as if they've advertised it at all. However, this is probably beacause the site is largely incomplete and out of date. Don't panic Matt & Merv, it's no competition for www.canveyfc.com!

Whoops butter fingers, don't know what happened there.

As I was saying, I've seen this site before. Kind of got the impression that it is a site where the fans are supposed to update it. It's nothing to do with the club as there are many websites for Premiership, Nationwide and non league clubs under this 'footy mad' banner.

Looking at the other non league clubs featured most of the info is out of date so it seems that these sites are set up so supporters can be the webmasters and provide news and reports.

I've not looked at the other Premiership, Nationwide sites, so I'm sure whether even these are still being updated.

Sometime last year, they went around e-mailing webmasters of various sites and telling us that we would be far better off using their sites.

 

Basically they are betting sites and make their money from advertising other sites and taking bets on each team through it's own site.

 

Some of the League ones have been useful in finding out about old players who have moved down to non-league level, but that's simply because the player details get updated so rarely.

I posted a message on that forum only yesterday in fact telling the Canvey fans who visit that site where all the real banter and discussion takes place.

Just taken a look at the 'rival' site.

 

Never one to blow my own trumpet, but blimey. Makes you realise just how good the www.canveyfc.com site is.

 

Also, just how good this discussion board is.
