But given that Clapton's first team already have away friendlies on 4, 5 & 6 August, what sort of team would they have been likely to field on 7 August against a side lower down the pyramid?

They usually have about 105 different players available, many of whom seem not to know their own names!

In fairness, the new manager at Clapton appears to be achieving a lot more than his most recent predecessors. I hope it works out for them.

Yes according to Clapton's impressive website they have friendlies lined up almost every day however obviously they would have felt obliged to put a strong team out against us rather than run the risk of humiliation, I quite fancy Clapton to have a successful season with such meticulous preparation.
