Trott gives his reasons for released players. Headline is about Greg who Trott says has not had a bad season and was excellent towards the end of it but he's looking for something different (yeah-get rid of an excellent player for a different one). Donovan has great potential but it has not worked out here-fair enough I suppose. Proths has had a decent season and been involved in many of our wins, loves the club and is one of the best passers you'll ever see but basically can't play without McKimm (was it Lees fault McKimm was always either banned or injured). Abbot he reckons could play in the Championship ( yeah right) but something is stopping him (er, the fact that he's not actually good enough to ). Wisker has excellent potential who he is sure will do well. Charlie has been excellent but Scott is the one with the price tag around his neck.

Well, it was failure last season-let's see what happens next season.-I'm not holding my breath having just read Trotts self styled rhetoric (or [****!!****] as I like to call it).

I fully expect some abuse from the Trott lovers out there for expressing my opininion but unlike some I am man enough to take it.

Well lets look at the positives rather than dwell on the negatives.

 

In this article it also says that Skinner and Standen are staying at the club (presumably on contracts) and the best news Rob Haworth is staying on non-contract terms. I make that 10 players for next season already.

 

Cue abuse from daffodil and leek land now wink

Well I'd like to see who fills the positions left by Greg, Charlie and Lee. Be difficult to actually get "better" players than that to play Ryman football, especially on a smaller budget. If sixth place is good enough for you lot well with the squad we had then that doesn't show much ambition does it?

 

Expect abuse from paella and grease land.

Didn't really agree with Bob's post until he reminded us of what level we're at and to attract quality players of Protheroes calibre won't be easy. By the way, keep up the abuse guys as it's much more entertaining than it being completely dead on here like it's been recently you bunch of [****!!****]. Heh! heh!

Actually we prefer a nice bit of Hake or Salted Cod to that Spanish Paella rubbish in the Basque Country.

I do not disagree that replacements of the same (but prefabally better) calibre will be difficult to find.

Firstly I would like to thank the players that are leaving us for last season !!!!!

 

IMO the reason has got to be wage bill reduction. Proths was one of the highest paid ! SCS is the better keeper. Abbo didnt produce. Oates I feel for as that boy has got blue blood !!!

 

Roll on next season !

Quite agree its a real shame to see Oates leave i thought he had a good season and staid fairly injury free, i guess he must be on a few bob and they see him as expendible frown
