Our longest away trip

I for one think it's a great shame that a team as massive and deserving as Exeter of being in the Championship with clubs of their own size and history should once again find themselves playing at a level far beneath them again next season.

What about the Trophy final?

This Exeter-baiting is rather childish. I can't see what people's problem is with them - a couple of individuals give out some billy-big-time comments on their forum before each of our games against them (par for the course for pretty much every match, and often probably wind-ups), and suddenly their fans are all tarred with the same brush. I only hope your post was satirically acknowledging this fact, Stu.

I for one will be looking forward to another trip to St James' Park next season. It's a shame one of the two had to go up - I'll miss 'Bring Me Sunshine', Eric Morecambe impersonators and the pies at Christie Park.

The Trophy final was of course another excellent advert for non league football, but the fact that there was so much more at stake, and that it was after the 'official' opening of the stadium, gave the play off final that extra edge.

I'll definitely miss the trip to Morecambe next year. One of the best away days I've had, without doubt. Everyone was so friendly, just the sort of club that perfectly apitomises our league and what it's about. Also, behind Macca, Jim Bentley has got to be far and away my captain of the season. He's Morecambe through and through, and it shows when he's on the pitch. Good luck to them next season, and lets hope that we're one of the sides joining them after next season.

I've never subscribed to the fact that baiting other teams had to be sensibly observed and based on fact. Much easier to lump 'em all in for the sake of cheap points-scoring... wink

Congrats to Morecambe. I feel sorry for the fans of Exeter, but pleased that they and the other former league clubs never made it. Selfish of me I know, but the former league clubs have a big following and are helpful in increasing the number of fans through the turnstiles when they play away. So thanks former league clubs for realising that our league is not so tinpot.

LESS WE FORGET.

From a purely mercenary point of view Exeter bring more fans = more income to Stonebridge road, also we have had a few good results against them (although none to match the 6:0 against Morecombe a few years back).

Best of luck to Morecombe and Daggers and look forward to seeing Exeter again next season.
