Thanks, that's right and we would have probably needed to stay up in the North East overnight which would have been quite expensive, a lot of our players aren't great travellers either and like to be in the comfort of their own environment such as Camden and Islington, they would certainly be like ducks out of water on Wearside.

He would of Greg but as I am sure Rhodes knows he understands what is good for his players in pre season.

We did consider that but the Copthall Stadium isn't available for us to use until the start of the season, I think like I said we just want to keep our pre-season low key this year as we attracted too much attention this time last year, particularly playing at Claremont Road, and it was a distraction we didn't really need.

Greg Dyke - Strangely enough we considered playing Sunderland at another ground in the area but to be perfectly honest we had our basin full of that last season and are totally fed up with going to Club's on bended knee, cap in one hand and Big Issue in the other asking for favours. This season is a new beginning for us, a new era if you like and we want to put the bad old days, such as the ill fated groundshares at Haringey, Potters Bar and Hendon, well and truly behind us.

That's a good point however it's exactly what we at Kentish Town are forced to do, I spend hours walking up and down Kentish Town Road cap in hand and banging on doors in a Jehovas Witness fashion, it's a case of if you don't ask you don't get.

Greg Dyke - Yes but that is all very time consuming and there are only so many hours in the day, fete's, racing nights and quizes etc are more for your Stony Stratford Town's, Cranfield United's, New Bradwell St Peter's, Winslow United's and Buckingham Athletic's where there is nothing else or better to do and the Football Club is the focal point of the Community, it's obviously not like that with Kentish Town.

TheSpursFan - Thanks for that, yes I was beginning to wonder about Eagles1981 myself, perhaps he has something to do with the missing shirt and ball and is in cahoots with 'Sugar', I doubt he is in Portugal at all and is probably watching us from behind his computer screen with a smile on his face in the Old Kent Road.

Yes me too, you seem to have vast experience in such matters and we will give you a percentage, I bet you could easily double a grand in the blink of an eye.
