New Investors?

The funding that the Club needs to progress, has been much anticipated by all of us fans.

The highs and lows of competing in the conference and then the club being relegated due to the lack of progress on the ground has tested the patience of many fans.

Given that we have been waiting 6 years for the ground to be developed. It would be really good to see new investment both on the ground and the team.

If the club has the investment neccesary it would be good too know about it. And if they dont perhaps they should approach potential investors. There are a lot of people in East Kent who have substantial funds. Thanet needs a succesful football club. It would do so much for the area.

But without the investment,it looks like a bit of a pipe dream.

Would be great to know the level of backing financially the club has, its obviously a great deal more then a number of clubs at our level but still i cant say i sleep easy at the thought of were this cash is coming from and what its limits are and what is the time scale the investor/s are willing to put up with, without any notable success.

There are a lot of wealthy people in the area but tbh it would be very hard to get them to invest in to the football club.
Football clubs seem a very hard thing to run at a profit and thats all they will be intrested in unless they genuinly have love for the club or see real potential to make money somewere.

I think thats true. Nobody really seems to know how much has been put in by who? And nobody really seems that sure of how the club can progress?
There are plenty of wealthy people in Thanet. I think it is possible that some of those people may be interested in helping to develop a succesful football club.
The level of support for the club did grow rapidly when they first got promoted to the conference. And Thanet has the potential to support a club at a much higher level.
What is needed is some financial input to help achieve that goal.

Some people have short memories.

Keith Piper spent years trying to attract the investment needed to save the club from closure. Despite earlier failed attempts he has managed to attract a backer who has got us through the last two seasons. Not just got us through, but put enough money in for MFC to be known as ‘big spenders’ in our league. That is a major achievement when you consider that every attempt to get a stadium redevelopment plan under way has so far failed.

If Number6 happens to know someone willing to risk the necessary £1 million plus on a local football club with no assets, I suggest he introduces them to the board of directors without delay.

Hey! What's wrong with the current investers-look at our shiny new stadium that commenced five games before the end of last season as promised and I drove down Hartsdown Road this morning and what can I say about stage one of the development of the five a side pitches promised to start at the end of April. Wow they're looking good! The contractors have been in and removed at least two blades of grass!!

Trouble is lower league football isn't 'glamourous' enough for anybody with big money - if you do get a good backer you really have to hope he's in it for the long haul, how many little clubs have we seen go to the wall when their 'hero' has got bored or walked away - or even worse, plundered the club for their own benefit. Only this week, Farnborough Town have hit the wall, and Maidstone United & Dartford are really only just getting it back together after they were both destroyed by the same man! As an Ebbsfleet Utd supporter (still feels strange saying that) we do need another team in your neck of the woods - hope you get it together.
