Hey SL - think that's a bit harsh about the old arena's - maybe u never visited Chessington & Hook or Mole Valley - they were crap holes, crap pitch and dangerous to play on (C&H was shut down because of holes once).

Then again the Arena did decline a bit.....

Still come visit some of the Div 1 grounds..... Arena was a palace compared.....

Hopefully see you at the NEW ARENA in the future...

Club announcement this morning:-

Farnborough Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of our new management team, and additional facilities for the club.

Andy Clement and Steve Moss have been appointed as First team manager and Assistant Manager for the forthcoming season.

Andy Clement used to play for Wimbledon FC and has been inolved with non league football for some time and most recently managed Bisley Football Club. Bisley won their league this season losing only twice and in the process scoring 121 goals and recording a goal difference of +99 (Profile to follow)

Steve Moss is a very well known and respected coach who has also managed at our level and was last season the manager at Winchester City. Steve is also involved in Youth Development and will be a huge asset to the club. (Profile to follow)

In addition Farnborough Football club is delighted to announce that we have now secured our permanent training Facilities for our first team, Reserves and youth at Lion Park Bisley.

The Facilities include One full size match pitch, two floodlit training pitches, one full size and one three quarter size (both of these are currently grass pitches but will be G3 surfaces in the next few months) and an additional grass training area. There is also excellent changing facilities and a nice club house on site as well. (Photographs to follow)

The new structure will see Farnborough Football Club remaining at Cherrywood Road whilst our reserve team will now be playing at Lion Park in the Hellenic League (Saturday fixtures) as Bisley's first team.

Our Youth structure will now be tightly alligned with Bisley FC and will see both teams playing in the Allied Counties Premier Division this season. Our youth development and academy structure will now boast over 550 players under the age of 16 linked directly to Farnborough Football Club.

This is the beginning of a new era and accordingly we have considered very seriously the best way forward for the long term development for Farnborough Football Club on the pitch and have addressed a number of issues which will give us a stable and progressive future.

I am also delighted to introduce you to Simon Hollis another member of the consortium who has been instrumental in planning the way forward for Farnborough Football Club and ensuring the overall structure of the club is progressive and innovative. Simon is a local businessman who is also a true football man and will be see frequently at Cherrywood Road in a hands on capacity working for the future of our club. Simon will be happy to talk to anyone about his ideas and views for the club and also listen to what you have to say.

Simon, Andy and Steve were at the club last night to watch the Finals of the F Factor and have all commented on what a great first impression they have of the club and the wonderful potential and promise waiting to be fulfilled.

In closing I would just like to say that the talking has now stopped and the "Doing" has started so lets get on and build a great football club TOGETHER.

Will be interesting to see what the Hellenic make of that. Really do not beleive they will allow a "Reserve team" to play in their Premier. The guy that has pumped all the money into Bisley is now on board at Farnborough.
