Next Season's Opponents

Couple of new grounds Maidstone and Harlow as in literally new grounds to go to. Oh dear, Northwood - Still we know that route well enough after many a postponement smile

It will be intersting to see how the derby bank holiday games pan out.

AFC Hornchurch - Billericay Town - Chelmsford - East Thurrock - Harlow - Heybridge - throw Boreham Wood and Leyton into the equation..

You just know we will get Leyton ! grin

Interesting point on the Bank Holiday games. Personally I would try to arrange the Chelmsford game on a "normal" Saturday. If both teams are going ok there will be a big crowd anyway and tbph it might make it harder to organise if there are a lot of once a year punters in attendance.

If we play teams like East Thurrock or Leyton on the Bank Holidays we will likely get bigger gates than we would normally expect and there will be no crowd management issues.

Was at Harlow's new ground on "business" last week - even went up the players' tunnel to pitchside. All very smart and new but no terracing and totally open behind each goal, though loads of covered standing opposite the main stand. A million times better than their old place !

harlows would be ok if it had terracing either end but i should imagine that should they move into conf south at any stage they would look at that, but if they got a decent cup draw it could turn out to be a big own goal as to getting more than a couple of thousand in the ground, someone on our forum said maidstones new ground may not be ready for this season and they can't play at sittingbourne next year but don't know if this is true??

Reckon we'll be stuck with E. Thurrock for boxingday and eastermonday games... Looking at it purely geographically gives:

Billericay v EThurrock

Chelmo v Heybridge

Harlow v Boreham Wood

Leyton v AFC Hornchurch

not necessarily a bad thing, given the liklihood that boxing day will be frozen off. Would prefer Chelmo and AFCH on saturdays/bank holidays.
