Yeah, great performance by the lads today, Ollie looked like he had never been away and Fewings had his best game in a blues shirt. Overall we were well worth the 3 points, just a shame so few Town supporters were there. I counted only 16 behind the goal plus one or two others on the side, where was everyone?? Maybe the memory of last seasons performance perhaps?? Oh well, you missed a cracking game, well done the blues!!

Team: JJ, Williams, Kerrigan, Adedeji, Gilley, R.Graham, Henty, Fewings, Douglas, M.Graham, Ansell.

Played Ansell in midfield with Fewings and Douglas up front (Moore suspended after 5 bookings and Penn injured)

All round good performance. Started very brightly with some good attacking play, both the Grahams terrorising their opposing full backs. Chesham had a couple of good minutes half way through the half when they hit the bar but otherwise offered very little as an attacking force and JJ had little to do. Town took the lead after 33 minutes (exactly, Emma won the golden goal <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> ) when Ansell flicked the ball on for Douglas to score with a cool finish. Second half Chesham came into the game a bit more, both keepers had to make saves with Paul Fewings particularly unlucky not to score. Just as were nearing (another) agonising injury time Douglas held off his defender to score his second, placing the ball through the keepers legs. Hard to fault any of the players for commitment or effort, a couple of individual errors at times, but entirley excusable given the lack of football we've had recently. Bring on Aveley, hope to see a few more people there!

moore was out suspended and penn injured. a positive move from calder to drop ansell into midfield and play fewings and douglas up front..assume we were ensuring wallace ok for tuesday.

chesham fans tght they were unlucky as they hit the bar twice but in reality bar one fine save from jj they were the only attempts they had at goal.

lots of positives. ollie back looked great..2 goals from douglas..90 mins from fewings altho he was sighted hobbling around the bar afterwards..must have been the shock...clean sheet for jj...sml negative thgt henty looked a bit out of sorts....

a shame abt the lack of support (both home and away)..lets hope we can take a better crowd to aveley for a chance to get to a final

cmon the blues

Excellent result and performance. Hard to give a MOM as all played well, but for sheer effort and workrate and the fact he has had so few games then I'd go for Paul Fewings. To the 50/60 LOYAL FANS who did travel, you are a credit to YOUR CLUB, you know who you are! It's a shame that so many people have turned thier backs on the club that so many people claim to support, and at a time when since the Ford game, the lads have been superb (except 2nd half at Bishops Stortford). But with the whiff of a bit of glory in the air Tuesday, watch that woodwork creak!!!!

Another freezing cold day out at Chesham but with the massive reward of three points. The first time I can remember winning a league game there. Could not believe the size of the crowd, who would have thought that Chesham won the league ten years ago in front of a thousand odd fans. Also where were all the Ricay fans?

After our first goal never thought we would lose, best performers for me were Andy Douglas (not just cos he scored two) and JJ as always. However this was really a team effort.

Surely we can take more to Aveley it is not that far to travel and we should have two strikers for a cup game in Fewings and Wallace!

Good team performance, amazing what you can do when you have a balanced team and you play players in their normal positions. Chesham should have been reduced to 10 men when their goalkeeper handled the ball outside of his area.

Agree with above about Gary Henty, he was not at his best and Wills has yet to discover his form of last season (other average game). Ollie continued where he left off before injury. JJ was just JJ, I think he should be captain, it might take some of the strain off Wills. Douglas had a poor first half but the goal seemed to change him, he had a really good second half, he had some bounce in his running. Graham brothers had their best games for a while. Fewings had a decent pitch to play on at last. He never stopped running and battling. Nobody has mentioned the contribution of Gary Ansell. He was everywhere and deserved a goal. Man of the Match, between Ansell and Fewings. My vote goes to Fewings, kept going for the whole game even with blood injury on his face.

I assume Morro will be back for Tuesday and Russel and Wallo will be back for the cup tied players. Let's see a few more of you at Aveley on Tuesday night.

great to see the lads put in such a good display, even better to see 4 subs on the bench! thought fewings played his best game for us, the turn he made that left two defenders and the outside of the boot past to mark g was pure class, he may not be that quick but his touch is superb.

two dissapointments for me: Lee williams is not a man on top of jis game, i cant remember the last time he had any influence on a game, he is also the quietest captain i have ever seen. The ideal skipper for us is JJ as his is the voice we all hear. Willo just hasnt been the same since that bang on the head at kingstonian, only trouble is i cant think of anyone else that we have that is better although Ansell looked more than comfy in the middle and maybe when russell is fit there could be some competiton for places.

the other negative was the away support, in a few of our away games at the start of the season we took a coach that allowed many of the younger supporters the chance to go but it seems the interest has slumped in general.

Good on the lads and everyone else that made the trip. Drove home feeling very satisfied with my afternoons footie.
