New Wembley - WOW

Recommended Posts

Yesterday was my first visit to the new stadium and I cannot find enough superlatives to describe how fantastic the place is. Absolutely stunning.

I was lucky enough to have VIP tickets and the meal (all-inclusive, plus free wine!!) was just incredible. I know it is x amount of years late, but definitely worth the wait.

We were just below the royal box and even Lightweight will have plenty of room in the seats.

Cannot wait to repeat the experience later today. For anyone going, there is no Circle Line service, but Hammersmith and City line (Met Line) is working okay. You can get a train direct to Wembley Park from Liverpool Street, or our preferred route is go to Baker Street, walk around the corner to Marylebone and get the Chiltern Line to Wembley Stadium station (10mins).

Plenty of seats available later today and pay on the gate is available.

If you were undecided, just go...you will NOT be disappointed.

I totally agree with Coup, it is an experience that will live with me forever. I saw the formidable Truro City beat AFC Totton 3-1 to become, arguably the greatest outfit at their level ( step 6 ) ever and was also very fortunate to savour the awesome hospitality of the F A and a comfy seat after - in fact it was so comfy, I nearly caught Mrs LC falling asleep but that would have been criminal in such hallowed surroundings and Truro City kept the interest going in anycase. A brilliant end to the season and if you haven't been then take the first opportunity going, folks !

Yeah i was there today as well up with the Truro lot dead on half way up in the heavens smile . Truro looked a class team and their 7 didn't half take his two goals well

Noteworthy mentions

I spotted 14 Romford Fans there incuding Me and Light smile

Coup wearing his Pink shirt, trendy it's not tongue

Abbeynut getting his suit soaked so it looked like a two tone suit or something

and Coup's great idea of going to the pub in Marylebone only to find it was shut and then walked back up the road in the rain to a different pub from which when we left it was bucketing it down and didn't stop till we got into the ground, which is awe inspiring

I took loads of pics of my phone which when i can be bothered i'll put on here and myspace smile

I was also at the Truro - AFC Totton game, just behind the goal with the inbreds from truro about 15 rows up. The atmosphere werent too bad but not much singing. The stadium was incredible, the toilets were a bit small. A few of us stuck some money on Truro to win 3-1 in the betfred bookies in the stadium, and we went to collect it at the end and it was closed which was shyte. But overall it lived up to expectations.

I was right below that at the back of the Lower tier, behind the right hand technical box. Cannot believe they didn't retain the 39 steps...Now 147 according to a steward.

And all those stewards as the players go up..why??

Had a great day yesterday despite Coup taking us on 15 trips in and out of Marylebone station to pubs that wern't open etc... We left him the final time when he strarted to bounce of brick pillars saying he was looking for platform 12 3/4s.

I also broke my arms when I foolishly used the handryers that were obviously on a mach 1 setting thus throwing me to the floor.

The stadium is fantastic and at £10 a ticket was cheap as chips. Unless you actually bought Wembley Stadium chips then it wasn't
