Do we have a young squad?

Interesting as I couldn't believe it when I read that Dorms was 27 in an interview the other day and that must make Hunter about the same age. Last season I think we only had a couple of over 30s in Heffer and Hill but there must have been a few in the 25-30 bracket.

Interesting to read on the official site that the under 18s have been resurrected for next season. With the success we've had with Elder and most probably Whelpdale it must be important for us to take a chance on the best young players from lower down the pyramid to complement the quality and experience we've already got.

I would say so, yes. Worster, Swaine, Blewitt, Whelpdale, Wareham, are all 19-20 - and all played against Carshalton, Elder was 21 (I think) when he left, Gameo must be 22 now, likewise Flacky. We have a couple of old heads in Heffer and Hodgey, and a core of players in their mid 20s such as Kerras, macca, Dorms and Leon but apart from that I would say it is a young squad.

I would rather have a squad of talented players regardless of age on the pitch.

I did notice from some of the teams we played that it was our (whoops the teams) talent and skill that won games rather than the age of them.

But yes great to have so many young up and coming players in the squad, and with players like,Hodgey,Macca,Dorms,Leon & Joe Flack to look up to then we are in for an other great run next season.
