What newspaper is that then? Where did you get this information from? More likely just another wind-up.

Danny is on contract for another year I believe! He wont be going anywhere!

Then they will have to stomp up a fair few quid Tony.If he's on contract & if Trotty dosent want him to go then he wont, surely.

However I fully understand that the CLUB might want to cash in on him & in that case it COULD well happen but I doubt Trotty will want that no matter WHAT our budget is.

This would be a backward step for him & I cant see him wanting to start off his second spell like that.

Theres no mention in any Bromley newspaper as far as I can see anyway & if it were it would be plastered all over their forum by now I would have thought.

Nah!,I cant see this coming off in Bromleys favour somehow. Its only a chat anyway if indeed one is planned.

Might be just an invite to a stag night or something for all we know.

Your probably right I was just being the voice of neutral reasoning hear.

I just think what I would do if I was Hockton and he aint getting any younger and Margates budget has been cut so would I take a chance and try and help Margate go up with a weeker squad than the one that did'nt acceive f-ck all last season or Go straight to the conference south with Bromley before its to late.

Bromley would be a very attractive proposition for Danny as he does live in the Bromley Borough. Plus would you want to stay at a club where some of its fans slagged you off at the end of the season despite scoring all those goals.

And Bromley would (in theory) need Margate's permission to talk to him.

agree with Joseba on one thing , some fans of the club and they no who they are threw insults at Danny for alot of the time in the last 2-3 games and he was only 5ft away from them when alot of them were thrown ( around the goal ) and now everyone is worried that he`s going to maybe go to Bromley if true , Stepping up to another league is an improvement in his terms if he plays well in Conf sth he could be picked up in Jan transfer window by a league club , so thats good bussiness for us and Bromley . Shouting and swearing at a player who has done what he`s done for us over the past 2 seasons is not on really and it could have been us thats makes him go ( if true but hope he stayswith us).

How would this be a backwards step? He'd be playing in a higher league and leaving a club, as someone mentioned, won nothing this season and didn't make the play-off's dispite you being one of the favouites for the title.

It's a shame loyaly means diddly squat these days but the opportunity to play in a higher league when your current team has cut their wages bill must be somewhat tempting.

IF he left it wouldn't be because of the occasional criticism. All players have their off days & when they do its noticed & mentioned. I don't know of the extremes you mention Andy but blaming the occasional(sometimes warranted)criticisms by fans is ridiculous.I'm sure if Danny DID go,the thought of any occasional negatives about his play (& yes even he has some),wont even have entered into his head when making a decision of that kind..If he goes it will be because he WANTS to & he will have a few reasons for doing so but none of them I'm sure will involve the odd negative comment made by fans.Thats just ridiculous to be saying that!

Besides Danny has probably had the lions share of PRAISE from fans anyway over the season, probably more than most.He has more reason to STAY if you judge it that way.

Its certainly not ideal. But thats what he's been given & thats the amount he will have to juggle with to get the best out of whatever players he has at his disposal. That budget figure, with some shrewd & clever decision making pre-season,need not,in the end, prove to be as reduced as has been mentioned or as we fear.

Cookie im not going to kick off and agree with you on some things , but i was`nt at the Slough game and we all no what happened after the match when Danny was insulted by we all no who ( complete cox if you ask me ) they are the type of things that a player won`t forget in a hurry . Danny has done so much for this club as i stated earlier but if you constantly bicker and throw insults at him or anyone , they will snap and say ive had enough which is apparently what he did do by having a go back . Episodes like that can drop your confidence big time , and no matter how a player plays good or bad you should be behind them at all times.

We are all human and we all make mistakes and we are not at our best all of the time , we all do it but no one stands there and slags us off for being like that but its ok to do it to footballers when there not upto our standards .

I agree Cookie. Perhaps there is something more to do with the distribution of the budget and the mix of the squad. Danny would agree that his goal scoring success is also down to the players around him, and to that end, he has had a good selection of those last season. And of course, there really is - particularly at our level - more than just money that will sway a player's decision. And in our favour will be (at least I imagine) Danny's relationship with RT. It is of course interesting to note, that Robin had out a team togethre that allowed Danny to score more goals in a single season than at any other time in his career.

However, if Danny does go for a fee, then if a significant proprition of that can be re-allocated to the playing budget perhaps the impact would be minimal anyway.

If Danny does go (and I'm not saying he is) it won't be because of what happened at Slough. This guy used to play for Millwall - he knows what proper abuse is all about! Footballers are grown men and some verbals from the punters is water off a duck's back. Stop treating them like kids. And of course he was voted supporters' player of the year, so he knows he is well liked by most of us.

what we`ve got to remember though is this is there 2nd job of the day and its probably the best job in the world playing football and we all wish we had the chance to do it but when we have had a hard week all we want to do is sit down and have a rest but the Dannys and the Pinns of this world run out for us 1-2 times a week as well as train twice a week and have to travel a fair distance each week just for there home games and they have to put there home life into this as well so im not treating them like kids CE , put yourself in his shoes, would you do all that score 40 goals for your club run through the pain barrier as he has done and still be slagged off , bet the bloke is wondering what he has to do to make us happy sometimes , but this is football we can all bitch at them one week then they can be gods the next , think we are suffering from no footy already, up the Gate

Who did we vote as player of the year? I'm sure that gives some impression as to what most of the fans think fo the guy. However, I don't expect that will be that huge a factor in any decision he may have either. Shame really as I'd also like West Ham to keep Carlos Tevez!

I really like Tevez. It would be a good thing if that player graced the premiership next season.

Danny is the captain of our team, and by far the most prolific striker in the league. He is also a really nice bloke, and likes it at Margate. It would be horrendous if we lost him. He must know that the vast majority of us love him to bits.

I wish people would not speculate so much, must be unsettling for any player. But that is the nature of the close season beast, I guess.
