East Anglian Cup

Recommended Posts

With the rain sheeting down over Wakering, Needham Market won the East Anglian Cup after a 2-1 defeat of Concord Rangers. It was 1-0 at half-time to the ECL side and Danny Heale managed to scramble home an equaliser midway through the second half but Needham were the better side on the night and scored the winner shortly after. Not a brilliant crowd but those that came saw Danny Heale receive the Don Douglas Leading scorer trophy before the match. So that means the only ESL side to have won this trophy which is very much like and as old as our League Championship Trophy ( @ 1890 ? ) is Stansted in their great F A Vase winning year of 1984.
