Badge collecting is very big in east Europe (also in Germany). This type of letter is not ususual. If anyone does decide to respond, please be warned that sometimes other letters from other collectors may follow. (Not always, but collecting is widespread and your name may be circulated on collectors' lists - there is nothing sinister about this, but you will simply become a contact for HFC badges - it is not a Nigerian style scam).

 

In the Eastern block, pin badges cost about 10p each, compared to a selling price over here of about £3 for UK badges.

 

Czech badges are ten a penny, Polish badges not so common, Russian badges are mass produced.

 

Badge collecting is quite big over here as well, but nothing like as popular is in Europe.

I got one from a fan in Odessa in the Ukraine, asking for a scarf. I sent him my spare one and a week later got a scarf, badge, pennant and some programmes. It does show that there are some genuine (and grateful) fans out there.

good stuff royal and we also know that there are many decent fans in eastern europe....mind you..we had a right nutcase from northern poland on here a while back...came on all sweetness and light and then turned really nasty...he was posting fotos of polish league fans burning grounds down and all sorts....we had to ban him in the end...
