Hornchurch Kicked Out Of Ryman Premier !!

Recommended Posts

Not again!!

My nerves can't stand this much longer. If there is any truth to this speculation I would be grateful if the Club could make an official statement. I appreciate there may be a lot of behind the scenes work going on at the moment but when you are able please put us out of our misery.

Thanks.

It wouldn't surprise me sid,the council obviously are unwilling to help romford and have pushed their troubles onto us.

Now what seems to be the issue is that Romford sound as if they would move into the bridge this summer at the expense of hornchurch going into the ryman prem. This is a contradiction in terms for them as their sole reason for wanting the bridge as their home was for ryman grading, and we all know from the ryman league that 3 clubs cannot share bridge avenue so something has to go so surely it would be easier to just keep it the way it is,unless romford fancy trying to shut the athletics club down.

My gut feeling is is that romford are testing the water and trying to make the club sweat, perhaps trying to bribe the club

it would be easier for everyone if romford just fecked off to rush green and give themselves 2 years to sort something out.

Give them a pre season friendly or something to get some dollar through their gates, plus it would be interesting to see zody again!

When RFC reformed some years ago and then shared Bridge Ave, some of their supporters had the attitude of we're the big club and expected everything should be given to them. At the time they were better supported and just felt Hx should move over. I think the success of the team currently at Bridge ave rankles with some of them as we are now clearly at this time the 'bigger' club (cue, tradition and history card!)

I have to admit I have not followed the news of a supposed new stadium for us and thought ground sharing with Romford was merely jest on these forums.

If the report in the newspaper is true (though realising how much rubbish is printed in all press I have my doubts) than to allow Romford to groundshare with us has pretty much wasted the efforts of the past few seasons. Hornchurch is an ambitious club with a lot of hard work and passion being put into each season. When things went 'Pete Tong' a couple of years ago I can imagine a number of people would have expected to see the crowds dwindle and Hx to disappear into oblivion. But noone wanted to see that happen. We were all going to make sure we were to be a force to be reckoned with again. After a lot of hard work by many different people that has been achieved - two promotions in as many seasons, with the second having been secured with 103 points.

If a third groundshare would mean a relegation back to the ESL with no chance of going up again, the efforts made by these people would have been wasted and Romford would end up being hated by the Hx fans. Not a good thing for football or the neighbouring towns.

C'mon Ricay, do you remember a few years ago when there was a very possible chance Billericay Town FC were going to be move to Gloucester Park in Basildon? Do you remember how everyone felt? I think you're an alright fella, but in this issue I'd suggest you take a back seat.
