It's a good track though even if I do not like watching a game from behind the 6 lanes.

Sadly AFCH seem to have shot themselves in the foot a bit by their insistence on claiming that the Havering Mayesbrook Athletic Club are a ground sharer in the fullest footballing sense of the word if the LBH stick to their ground share guns.

No way fella, I assume that.

The stadium is used a full 7 days a week by us and the Athletics. If you come and use the stadium, you will have massive problems, just think about it, and the comments in the local "rag" are not supportive to any so called proposal and only inflame what is already a sensitive situation.

I have nothing against your esteemed club at all, but consider where you would watch the game from? The top of the windmill?

And there are lots of other points.

BTW: what happened to Sungate?

Just take your cursor lightly over the aerial view above to locate where the ground is/was. I gather that it's being used as a landfill site at the moment although it is officially designated for leisure use.

As far as anything else about the site is concerned there was a certain amount of discussion on either the ESL or Romford forums a little while back but the best person probably to comment on its current situation will be Coupwotcoup who hopefully pick up on this thread but if not and you want some answers I suggest that you send him a PM.

Well some clubs (Heybridge) own their own ground

As the council own it they can do what the hell they like with it I really hope they insist Romford move in as they are the proper football club of the Upminster area

Forgive me if I'm wrong here, but I thought the whole reason for Romford wanting to groundshare at Bridge Avenue was so they could gain promotion to the Ryman League in the future. If this latest news is true, neither club will be able to play in the Ryman and the whole exercise surely becomes pointless?

From what i understand by reading the recorder is that unless romford decide to stay at rush green,AFC Hornchurch will have no alternative but to go back to the ESL next season.

This is just what romford want as they have probably been planing this all along and you know who is at the front of all this???

I can just see it next season

AFC Hornchurch v Romford Fc at the bridge, this is the sort of thing that nasty rivalries are born, all due to jealousy and bitter twisted people.

I would advise romford fans to stay away from the bridge for the hornchurch game as i am sure there will be more than a few hornchurch fans who will not take too kindly to romford being there and allegedly ruining our ryman status.

If romford want to play games i am more than sure hornchurch and their fans will not take any old crap

Kel,we all know their real reason and that is more or less been driven/stirred up by one person who no longer comes on here.
Romford only care about one thing and that is their obsession and trying to get one up on AFC Hornchurch.
Lets face it they live back in the 60's and because of events 40 years ago they think they are entitled to be the biggest club in havering which will never happen again.Back in the 60's romford was a decent town with decent people, even back in the 80's when i lived half a mile away it was ok but now it is just a hole and the fans have all moved out and left their club

Agree with you Kel and UM, as for the Basilricay, it's a shame because when you were going thru your move to Brazildon, I had great support for you to stay and improve and of course that is how things have worked out. It's relevant that you are not typical of New Lodge personnel, who have a very good rapport with us and good friendly rivalry.

Basically our council is useless and know nothing about organisation and the like, I have had many experiences of this, and as I said earlier, the stadium is used 7 days a week so if anyone else parasited in then something has to give. I wonder if our so called council would then start to look after the stadium which they do not do at present, contrary to their leader's comments in a previous "rag" article.

And of course what happens in say 5 years when Rumford get fed up with the Stadium? They move in with Aveley or Tilbury maybe!

Why would any council jepordise one club for the benefit of another. Romford playing at the Bridge Avenue, will be excellent for them, once we have moved and not until then.

Any chance of an official word on this, or should we just ignore it as "SPIN".
