Charlie Macdonald ~ Goodbye and thanks.

Recommended Posts

I see that the Gravesend Distorter appears to be confirming the worst kept secret since the end of the Conference season (for us anyway) that Charlie Macdonald is on his way.

Therefore if true, could I offer both my sincere thanks, not just for all the goals that he has scored, but also for the entertainment tha he gave to supporters last season in particular and also pass on my best wishes for the future, wherever that may (hopefully not the Medway Scallywags).

I am sure that if he changes his mind the doors will always be left open for his return?

I am with you Stu, even though I hope it is not false hope, but if the rumours are true about Ebbsfleets new sponsors etc and the fleet moving up the ranks do you not think he may rather be a big fish in a ever enlarging pond, or a small fish in maybe a staganant one ?

Wouldn't cost them a bean though, apart from upping Charlie's Fleet wages, which I can't imagine would break the bank of a team recently promoted to the Championship.

He would probably want a considerable rise to warrant moving his family up north.

Wherever he goes, I wish him well, he's done us proud for a bit. Just hope he's not signing for an opposition outfit, but who's good enough in the Conference for him to join - must be a league club

Good luck to him our loss is another teams gain. I still think its criminal that we are not getting a penny for him. IMHO thats where I feel we are not in the realms of a professional club for letting something like this happen.

Yeah, a "professional" club would just ignore the Bosman ruling, who do the European Court of Justice think they are anyway?

Yeah I know the rulings The Truth. It just pi$$es me off to lose such a player for no money. Clubs like us need that income especially when you look at sell on percentages as well. Not being funny but only one of our squad had committed his future before end of season. Had we not finished where we did and also with the now potential input it could have left us in a precarious situation. I'll crawl back under my stone now.
