Edgware Town F C the best SSML team EVER....FACT!!

Not only did we win the championship with the most points EVER, but we won the Premier and the Challange Trophy, a feat NO other team in the league have EVER acheived.

 

This makes Edgware Town 2006/07 the BEST team to ever play in the SSML!!! and NOTHING and NO ONE can EVER take that away from us

 

Its been a great 9 months, and everyone in the SSML have been very welcoming and we wont forget how hospitable teams have been when visiting them

 

Now we can enjoy the summer and the team can look back and refleck that they have acheived history for the club and the league!

Was it done with the biggest budget the league has ever seen as well?

NO, I can say with 100% authortity that the there were at least SIX clubs with bigger budgets then Edgware in the SSML this season.

 

I wont mention any of the teams, but I can safely say that Edgware won the treble due to sheer hard work, great management, and a nucleaus of a squad that was built last season in Steve Newings and Del Deanus fist in charge, and with some superb additions throughout this season.

I very much doubt you had the 6th biggest budget !...With years of experience in playing in this league i can safely say that Edgware are not the best SSML team ever...I'm not knocking what they have done, I think they have been by far the best team in this division all season long...Lets be honest though apart from Harefields excellent form since christmas and Hertfords inconsistant consistancy there has been no other teams putting up any sort of fight...I tend to agree with NB's view that the old Brook and Beaconsfield teams and indeed the old St Margretsbury side were very strong teams playing in a much stronger league...good luck to the wares though, you can only beat wots put in front of you !

Well said sir but I think you'd have to put Edgware amongst your Beaconfields / Dunstables / Brooks / PB's etc now (PS How did Hanwell get out of league by the way...)

totally agree that edgware would be amongst these teams...but best ssml team ever...i dont think so...the fact that the standard in this league is so poor now doesnt help to make comparisons

LOL, thats too funny, you have to look for flaws dont you. So if this was a weak SSML, then what does that say about Hertford, who had a massive budget, if not the biggest in the league, and were nothing better then inconsistant, a team with two goal scoeres and nothing else does not make a championship side.

 

You may as well say that Man U won the league this season because only Chelsea were their main challangers and that the Premiership is poor on a whole. You can use that excuse, but the facts are there, NO other team have EVER won the treble in the SSML so that alone makes us the most succesfull team to EVER play in the SSML!!

Just to put the record straight, Gavin, Hertford did not have a "massive" budget! I should know, as I paid out the players' expenses. Your claim to know what other clubs have been paying is laughable.

We are just commenting from personal experience Gav, you've only seen one season of SSML football. The league did used to be stronger in depth which is probably why teams like Brook House moved to Ryman and Waltham Abbey to the ESL.. and both got themselves promoted quite quickly after doing so.

MY claim that Hertford had a big budget is because it was in YOUR local press! that I remember reading online earlier in the season when you had a 'takeover' at the start of the season, with a ground name change. The new owners said there would be funds for the club.

I may have only seen one season of football in the SSML, but this is the THIRD time Edgware have won the Spartan League/SSML, and you cant argue with the facts.
